Politics Tonight's debate

Welcome to our community

Be a part of something great, join today!

I'll bring some sour cream.

Buttigeg is winning this debate. Klobuchar is doing well too.

Bernie is strong too.

I don't drink beer. A past debate guest brought a case of Corona. Will last it 2024

Hell of a debate.

Amy won it

Table set for debate watch party. Two pans of enchiladas, one meat, one vegetarian, salsa, guacamole, beans, drinks, two cakes.
I'd rather watch my weight than watch ANY debate (and I'd rather not watch my weight)

The only one that made a positive impression on me was Amy. I need to spend more time researching her platform. Only found one issue on her website I disagree with. But it is not a deal breaker.

Besides agreeing with most of her views. She actually listened to the questions and stayed on topic. Everyone else kept spinning off the topic into space.

There are certain people in all walks of life that rub well with people. She seems to be one that can relate and relate and advocate.
Don’t count her out just yet as there are donors still on the fence!

I thought they all did fine, with the possible exception of Yang, who didn't get to talk much, and Steyer, who seemed to be playing the part of an alien sent to study human behavior.

Joe and Amy probably helped themselves the most. Bernie is very consistent so no surprises there. Pete and Liz had off-nights, I thought, but no huge blunders.

Klobuchar stood out from the rest last night, IMO while Yang, Steyer, and Joe did not help their case.

I also found it odd that Bloomberg's name was even brought up and debated. The guy wasn't even there on stage but still manage to get some free air time.

That was the moderators doing, wasn't it?

Damn mods. Always ruining things.

...and alka seltzer when this is over.

Yeah, which begs the question; "Why?"

From what I remember, one of the "mods" initially posed the question about Bloomberg to one of the debaters (Warren?, not sure) and then some others chimed in. I think that while the current crop of candidates take turns at criticizing each other, Bloomberg will likely gain more and more traction.

Just my 2 cents.

Bloomberg is so low in the polls that it's going to take a minor miracle for him to gain traction and I like Bloomberg.

My favorite is Buttigieg but I don't think he's going to make it either.

I'm more bullish on Bloomberg's chances than I was. He's putting his money to good use. Money isn't everything, but it is something.

If all the other candidates are viewed as damaged goods after the first 4 contests, then he's got a decent shot at being the next hot thing.

If someone else has momentum coming out of SC, then probably not.

I agree. For the early part of Bloomberg's still early candidacy, I would have pegged his chances at closer to 0% than 1%. Now I'd probably upgrade his chances at being the eventual nominee at something like 1-2%. He's still a fringe candidate, but one that could win in a universe much like ours.

Don't you think he ought to show a spark of popularity before we say he has a significant credible chance?

For people who either vote strictly democrat and/or the people who simply cannot stomach another 4 years of Trump, instead of looking at platforms/policies I think the bigger and more important picture is who has the better chance of actually defeating Trump in November.

And the more I look at things, Bloomberg seems to have the best chance...plus, like I said earlier, he "has the correct change".
