According to ESPN, and in ESPN Magazine,
(March 31, issue): BTW-the Issue is worth the Money, even if you don’t subscribe to it.

This is the list below: PLEASE TELL ME WHO YOU THINK ARE THE TOP 10 SP's in MLB....

The Top Lefties in MLB right now are:

1-Clayton Kershaw-
L.A. Doy-yers (the Bums are the fucking doy-yers, until DTV gives me back my fucking Bums, ok?)
25 years old, 2 Cy Youngs, (voted 2nd in the 1 of 3 last years, which he didn‘t win the award). Has won the Triple Crown of Pitcher’s 2 of 3 years in a row. Won the ERA title all 3 years in a row-shades of Sandy Koufax in L.A. (blasphemy? Probably NOT).

2-Mark Price-

Tampa Bay
-would be a King if he played on a better team. Still the Crown of Southpaws is Kershaw’s for the taking.

3-Chris Sale-

Chicago Pale Hose
-same as Price, would be a King on a contender, and he needs run support. Sale looks like a young Randy Johnson, even on a bad team. Imagine if he were also on a contender….seems to be the biggest problem for most of these Top 10 SP’s.

4-Cliff Lee-

Philly-
-The crafty Lefty has still got it. Would be the Ace of any Contender. Philly needs to come alive, or Lee becomes a victim to a lack of run support, same as Price, Sale, and others…..

5-Madison Bumgarner

San Francisco
-I don’t even want to go there.

6-Cole Hamels-

Philly
-your fucking kidding me right. I loved this kid when he was a rookie on, till he blew his arm up. Also like Lee needs damn run support. Will his arm hold up, a risky prop.

7-John Lester-
Bosox
-Don’t even ask me, he’s a Bozox. Sorry fans!

8-Gio Gonzalez-
Nats
In my opinion, Gio belongs right behind Mr. Price.

9-C.C. Sabathia-
Yanks
A fit, health crafty Cy Young Winner, could wind up #2 or 3 on this list, underated here.

10-Francisco Liriano-

Pirates
-If he can duplicate last year, or his rookie year in Minnesota, this kid could be a King, on a over achieving team. Still striking out a batter per IP. Liriano pitched in 161 innings. Where did all the 250-IP SP’s go…???

My Own List:

1-Kershaw
(don’t call me Koufax, I’m gonna create my own record book, blasphemy, oh fucking well)-
No doubt, and the best SP in MLB, if you ask me!

2-David Price-Call me Mr. Price
Is a Monster, on a weak team. Imagine if he had the offensive production of Top Teams. He may or may not be #2, but in my book, Mr. Price needs to play for a offensive scoring machine, he would be unbeatable.

3-C.C. Sabathia-

I’m expecting as good a Cy Young like year, as ever from C.C. Fit, moreso than ever, with run support, he could redeem himself this year, as the #1-Lefty of the AL. Has a lot more experience, than anyone on this list, less maybe C. Lee. Will this be C.C.s year, will he displace Mr. Price on the list, will he bring home another Cy Young, I doubt it, but he is capable, and hungry, fit, lean, and mean. Can be one nasty finesse or overpowering pitcher.

4- Cliff Lee-

The crafty Veteran still has it, and is also victim of a bad offensive scoring team. If Lee were on a NLCS, or ALCS, even an LDS team, he would be King, under Kershaw of course.

5-Gio Gonzalez-

192 K’s in 195.2 IP. Gave up 165 Hits, 76 BB’s, 3.36 ERA, not bad for a NL SP. Gio, needs to cut down on his walks, if the Nats have a great year, so will Gio, if they don’t so will Gio.
This kid IMO is under rated. Imagine some of these guys, playing for the Bums, Cards, Tigers, Yankees, or any hot hitting team. Gio’s stock, IMO is going nowhere but up.

6-Chris Sale-

If he were playing for a contender, he could be right behind Kershaw, vying for the #2 ranking. I’ve liked this kid a lot. Again a victim of a weak hitting support cast. He reminds me more of Randy Johnson than anyone since the Big Unit, in his prime. I doubt he will ever put up Big Unit numbers, unless he gets traded to a contending Team, even then Big Unit like?????, maybe, probably not, could be on the right team, only time will tell.

7-John Lester-

I hate Boston, I don’t even want to talk about this cheater. I wouldn’t have him on this list (normally), cuz I just don’t like Boston. (I didn’t mind Yaz, Williams, Fisk, Tiant, or other greats of yore), I haven’t cared for Boston since 75. I only put him on this list, out of respect, but I hate those Bozox…!!!

8-Drew Smyly-
I’m going out on a limb here, and gambling. I like this kid a lot. Given the chance and support, he too could go right to to 2nd place too, if the Bengals make him a #3 or 4 SP. 76 IP: 62 Hits, 17 BB’s, to 81 K’s, 2.37 ERA, he should be a SP, not in the Bull Pen. Tigers traded Fister opening up a SP spot for Drew. Durability issues may haunt him. He’s never thrown more than 126 Innings. Durability issues could haunt him, tho’ he’s only 24 yrs old, and may adjust from his role as a lights out reliever. 6 Win-0 Loss year in 013. Smyly needs to come to the back of Verlander, and Scherzer. If made a #3 or so SP, could have a break out year. 24 yrs. Old, turns 25 in June. Watch this kid, keep an eye on him. MLB has Drew ranked #11 on this list, which stops at #10...?

9-Madison Bumgarner-

Again, a great Pitcher on a weak hitting Team. 201.1 IP, 146 Hits, 199 K’s, 62 BB’s. 2.77 ERA. Could also be a contender to the #2 crown, if he were on a better offensive team. He can pitch, as can all the men on this list.

10-Anibal Sanchez-

If healthy this crafty lefty may return to form. Led the AL in ERA last year. Arm probs may also put him out of this list, like Hamels. I’d bet on Sanchez over Hamels.

Not on my list, who are noted in ESPN’s top 10:

-Cole Hamels-

I don’t think he’s ever going to return to form, especially after a return from the DL, again. Tendonitis problems in his shoulder may plaque Cole this year, again.
Stats:
-Hamels 8-14 W-L record and 3.60 record, 220 IP, 202 K’s, 50 BB’s, 205 Hits, was a bit impressive for a “off season,” tho’ he gave up a few to many hits, a 1.15 WHIP, .90 HR/9 IP, 2.0 W/9IP, 8.3 SO/9

-Francisco Liriano-

Francisco Liranao: Over Achiever, or return to form. I don’t know, looks like a return, on a over achieving Team??? Given Run Support, Liriano could easily make it to the #5 position on this list.

Background history:
Francisco, Had one of the best rookie seasons with the Twins. Once a phenom, almost upsetting Johan Santana’s Cy Young Parade. Lirano was out performing Santana in Minnesota, until he blew out his shoulder, he had a 12-3 Record, with a .800 win pctg., a 2.16 ERA in 122 IP, versus Santana’s 2.77 ERA, the year Santana won his 2nd Cy Young, and the triple crown for Pitchers, in 06. (Liriano didn’t have enough IP to qualify, even with a 12-3 start, only ???? WTF???).

The Twins thought they could win without their 2 time Cy Young winner, by replacing him with Liriano. In 2006, The Twins had to pitch Francisco, into thru August, (when he blew his shoulder out) and into September in a pennant chase, over using, abusing his arm. Rotator Cuff Surgery too young, thanks you fucking idiots, for pitching him knowing he needed surgery. Twins about destroyed his career, Mo-Fo Twins, one of the dumbest things I’ve seen by any Team in recent years. Pittsburg has been a good place for Francisco to land. I’m not sure the Bucs can repeat their run of last year.???

Have at it Guys, lets see what you got, call 'em...!!!

This is the list below: PLEASE TELL ME WHO YOU THINK ARE THE TOP 10 SP's in MLB....

Where did CJ Wilson go? Wade Miley?

Please feel free to add them to your top 10.

C.J. is a damn fine pitcher...put up his place in the Top 10...

C.J. has been a bit of a workhorse for the Halos. He needs IMO to cut down his walks, and HBP, tho' I have no problem with HBP if its
Chin Music. CJ averaged 6 1/2 IP per Games Started. No Complete Games tho', that's probably not CJ's fault, more Sciosca's.

I'm beginning to think Mike Sciosca may of worn his welcome out in Anaheim. Personally I'd like to see hm fired, sent down to the Minors where he can train his son. Mike did have give us some greater memories as a Bums Backstop, one helluva Catcher he was, no doubt. Not a bad Mgr. but IMO, thinks to much like most 'small ball' Mgr's, he needs to learn when a SP can pitch a CG.
I guess Sciosca doesn't believe in Complete Game Pitchers-(CG)..

A thing we rarely see, a great thing of the past, the Complete Game Pitcher. How great was the Pale Hose post season run in 05, with 4 CG Pitchers in the ALDS...had to give the BP some work in the ALCS tho' not cuz they needed them, their SP's were in control, but the BP needed to blow out the cobwebs...I miss CG Pitchers, Damn It......!!!
