I'll have to check that out. I've never heard Czarface but I'm a huge DOOM fan. I've got a couple volumes of Special Herbs on vinyl. Those are his instrumentals he releases under the moniker 'Metal Fingers'. He's every bit as good of a producer as he is a rapper.

KRS One
Jeru the Damaja
One-b-lo and decompoze (binary star)
Pete rock and cl smooth
Nas
Big L
Little brother (phontay, pooh, 9th)
Group home
Gang Starr (guru and premier)
Public enemy
Pharcyde
Del the funkee homosapien
Masta ace

Can't forget

A tribe called quest
De La Soul
... many more which will pop into my mind later

I've bumped Talib Kwali onto my listening station for the couple of months. Can't get enough of his song, "Get By." It's absolutely one of the best songs, lyrically, I've ever heard.

Check out Murs collab with Slug from Atmosphere... they're called Felt. Really good shit.

Love Oddisee too

I'm 52 and have no idea who is or isn't a good rap artist, but my favorites would be

Eminem
Notorious BIG
Andre 3000
Snoop Dogg
Biz Markie

I of course love RUN DMC as well.

That's a pretty good list! I don't like Em, but I can't deny his ability to rap.

Talib Kwali

It's interesting, when you read interviews with rappers who their favorite rappers are almost all of them mention Talib Kwali. That's why I first started listening to him, Jay Z was just raving about him an interview he gave about the White Album.

Always loved this song with him and Mary J.

Life is a beautiful struggle
People search through the rubble for a suitable hustle
Some people usin' the noodle, some people usin' the muscle
Some people put it all together, make it fit like a puzzle
Come on, say it now
Life is a beautiful struggle

Was bumping this.... 10 years ago (though I agree it is awesome).

My friends call me "Mr. Classic Rock." Something I do not apologize for with my hipper friends. I am not suprised that I am behind the times when it comes to hip hop. Most of my favorite artists are dead blues guitarists anyway.

All good, amigo. Better late than never, eh?

As an MC, all I can say is.... Mr. Wahlberg is a good actor but he isn't THAT good.
I’m a fan of Wahlberg the actor because he doesn’t seem to take things overly serious......but I was joking about missing his rapper act. By the time I realized it wasn’t a Spinal Tap like take off, he had moved on to greener pastures. Thankfully.......
