A Manoah 12-6 2.71 vs. N Cortes 9-4 2.74

Fact:
On July 8th Toronto was in 3rd place 16.5 out: TB was 15 games out in 2nd place.
In 6 weeks Toronto has made up 9.5 games, 7 games out and on the verge of sweeping the Yankees
this afternoon at the Stadium.

Cole’s tantrum outburst in the dugout yesterday afternoon was the culmination of Yankee team frustration.
Nothing about their game is positive.

Honestly, this is what happens when a manager would rather be liked and be friends with his players as opposed to their coach. Boone has zero power in that locker room because they all view him as a lesser than rather than their superior and boss. He has messed up all season long with the Gallo situation and Hicks. Now it’s too late. Now he’s trying to fire them up and be a coach but all the players are looking at him like “who me coach? I thought we were cool. Come on Boone-y. You are supposed to support me no matter what.” Boone never once has yelled at nor benched a player for dogging it on the field and now we are seeing that implode. Doesn’t help that we also have THE WORST hitting coach in the majors which is a fact proven by looking at Benintendi prior to Yankees and now with Yankees. After we get swept by Toronto and the Mets the Yankees HAVE TO fire someone. It won’t be Boone sadly, but it 1000000% should be the hitting coach. Need to send a message to EVERYONE, players and coaches, that you are all expendable and that any of you can be fine at any time if you keep fucking up.

I don't like Boone as a manager but Cashman is to blame as well. He's the one that gave Hicks this God awful contract. He's the one who thought Joey Gallo was a good idea. He's the one who weakened the starting pitching depth by trading for an injured outfielder. He's the one who had to settle for their second option in Montas. The list can go on.

Nobody likes losing but I've never been a fan of pent up frustrations on display in the dugout...and usually when I do see it, for me, it comes across as self centered and self serving. and has little to do with "the team".

...just my 2 cents.

Cole is a baby who hasn't shown he is the dominant pitcher he was signed to be since he was caught with his spider tack. This team is very unlikeable and very hard to root for. Im ready for a few more kids to come up and see what they have. Ive seen enough of Torres, hicks and donaldson for starters. If Rizzo is gonna be in the lineup as a dh he needs to be playing first cause besides not hitting he is one of the best fielding first baseman and surely playing first should not be too taxing for him. The vibe on this team stinks right now and only a matter of time till cashman chimes in that the players suck. When he does I hope one of the reporters tells him that these are the players YOU imported on the team. Boone looks like he's ready to cry. He has no idea what to do. And if I hear 1 more time that Schmidt is getting stretched out for a playoff start Im gonna scream. 59 and myself have a better chance of starting a playoff game than Schmidt does this season. For gods sake stop the service time chicanery and bring this kid up in the bullpen where he was a big asset already and get rid of the useless abreau. I am so sick of watching Torres swing from his heels no matter the situation with that out of control swing of his I want to puke. Id say thank god football season will be starting soon but both ny teams will probably stink again and next up is our hockey rangers. I have a bad feeling watching this team that they may be the reverse choke of the 1978 team. I think Judge has already tuned out this team and will be long gone when free agency opens in November but it will be fine as cashman if not fired will import more aging crap for the team and pay them a fortune.

Torres with RISP, starts out 3-0 then promptly swings at ball 4…then weakly grounds out to 3B . I’m so tired of his act…he still thinks he is a power hitter though he is clearly not, even though he swings at EVERY pitch as hard as he absolutely can. He will never be any better offensively or defensively as he is right now…shoulda traded him when he had some value.

Extremely low baseball IQ.

Cashman is gone after this season as his contract is up. If Hal gives him an extension every Yankee fan should boycott the games until he’s gone. Boone is equally as useless as Cashman. Boone has literally no clue what he is doing out there, which is why in a 1 run game Loisiga is in the game. Boone has taken a shitty scenario and made it FUBAR.

Great call Boone, you fucking idiot. What in hell made you think Peralta was going to put out the fire.

Just resign already !

Finally Benny.

He was due, to be sure, but I wasn't too concerned with his slow start with the Yanx. But it wasn't like he was over-matched or anything, because he was making contact but not a lot of luck...plus, he's been to good of a hitter for too long...beautiful swing.

Just a reminder:
BUCK SHOWALTER vs. Aaron Boone !!!!!

^^^^^yeah, but is this happiness going to occur every 4 days (of late)?

Cashman, please, just STFU.

NEW YORK -- The New York Yankees are 5-14 in August, drawing the ire of their entire fan base while manager Aaron Boone is publicly showing his frustration by slamming tables in press conferences.

But Yankees general manager Brian Cashman did not hesitate to stand behind the slumping club on Monday.

"The group has my belief," Cashman said. "I believe strongly in them and I think they are still capable of everything we've ever hoped and dreamed, but we have to weather the storm first and foremost."

In recent days, Yankees fans made both Cashman and Boone the subject of their anger after the club's struggles. On top of the offense struggling to produce, Frankie Montas has posted a 9.00 ERA, allowing 14 runs in 14 innings pitched since the team traded for him from Oakland. Meanwhile, the team traded Jordan Montgomery, who has posted a 0.54 ERA in three starts allowing one run in 16.2 innings pitched for the St. Louis Cardinals. Harrison Bader, who came to New York from St. Louis, has yet to play a game due to injuries.

That said, Cashman stood by Boone's performance in recent weeks.

"I think he's done a great job," Cashman said,. "I think he's managed his players extremely well. ... He's even keel. It's important for our players to see that because if he can keep his temperament the same, for the most part, they don't see panic. It doesn't mean he can't lose his cool, which he will from time to time when necessary."
