So, are those the only times people were making bets on his props? Did he ever cover his props? Possibly someone close to him with specific knowledge of his health was conspiring with others without his knowledge? I really hope so.

If he got a great attorney early on seems like that should be his defense... Don't see how the NBA could prove otherwise..... Unless it's a large number of people involved and they all can corroborate a story against him.

The fact that he was the most bet upon prop that night, over a guy like Luka or LeBron or whatever, a guy many have never heard of—and the fact that the unders hit due to an irregular departure-that will be very hard to disprove.

Oh I certainly think there was betting fraud going on. But Jontay doesn't have to disprove anything, the NBA has to come up with the evidence. Now maybe he or whoever accounts the bets are under was carless or will rat him out.

But if not it could be very hard to get that proof of Jontay directly being involved.

I guess there's the chance as others have said it was someone close to Jontay with the info that made the bets or passed the inside info and Jontay was never aware. Thing is if this ends up being the story we might never know if that is legit or the coverup.

Id suspect there's been tons of these betting frauds not caught before. Remember some of the betting lines of who would be the #2 pick and such? We'd see crazy swings in the betting lines hours before the draft. Probably tons of times someone in a front office passed around the news of the decision and that eventually got to people making huge bets. Then we see it with the line drastically moving.

I guess the difference here is a player possibly not performing his duties on the court.

Jontay was never aware

this seems very, very unlikely. I understand the point you’re trying to make, btw, I’m just saying that I think the nba will be able to sniff this one out and will tar and feather the guy. (Even though there are likely others who have done something similar before undetected). jontay seems pretty sloppy. The discord screenshots… I mean, yikes. I’m sure the nba has already found more than we even know about.
