I almost bought a little white Benji type dog at the mall years ago. He was locked in a cage. I watched him open the handle to get out but it wouldn't open because they wired the door shut.

Then I watched him methodically unwrap the wires and get loose. Smart dog.

I have a personal rule about buying a puppy mill pet store dog so I didn't but I wanted to.

I love Davis but this contract year for him. He won't be on the team next year.

We'll see. You discount Vonleh. He's the one who we won't be paying.

Ed Davis is the heart and soul of this team. Even though he is a UFA, unless someone is offering a starting spot somewhere, I think we're in the driver's seat to retain him and we should.

And with that said, a moment for Black Jeopardy.

I'll take "They out here saying" for $200 Darnell:

Answer: They out here saying Ed Davis is gonna get Meyers Leonard money.

Question:

What is, You better pay that man his money and don't be the stupid team to pay Butters and NOT Ed... (he did come over in FA...)

Layman is like the little toe. It's there to check periodically that your furniture is still hard.

BTW - I still think Layman can make something of himself. He is like Pat - super athletic for his position. If he can just hit his shots, he has value.

Allen Crabbe in the sense that another team will MAX him out and Portland has 3 days to decide whether to match, not AC in terms of production.

Jeezus, I just noticed Crabbe's 3FG% is down to .358 (league average .362) and his PER is at 10.6. Both have plummeted since BRK made him a starter. Looks like we're not the only ones they fucked with that toxic offer sheet - kind of a contractual murder/suicide.

Who is the balls?

No, he's the taint.

Actually, didn't we used to have a poster with the username Taint in one of the previous incarnations of the Blazers forum?

Yes, he used to do the Predictions game. Perhaps HCP’s alter-ego?

Still not sold on Nurkic ... tonight was a prime example of why I'm leery of signing him long-term. He lost his touch from last spring on the block, he doesn't finish with authority near the rim, and is sloppy with the basketball. Did he play solid defense? Absolutely. I wouldn't move him for just any player but he's definitely not untouchable as was the case during last spring's Nurk Fever.

The Taint sketch on Mr. Show.

"It's INSANE. This guy's taint!"

The Taint acted tough, the opposite of HCP. One time he mentioned he had accidentally sat on his loaded gun that day. He disappeared. Maris tried to make contact, but couldn't.

I’m with you, for similar reasons. As much as anything just because I still don’t think this team, even with some added wing help, has a ceiling higher than the second rd. And while he provides defense and every other game some offense I think it can be replicated with a mix of Davis and Collins while also being better equipped for today’s NBA and Stotts offense.

I wouldn’t be mad if we resigned him but I think he could be part of a package that brings the level of roster change we need. I like Nurk the player and the teammate, but I’ve seen enough to believe trying to flip him to improve other areas of the roster would be more beneficial than tying us down to him long term for 14-18 mil a year.
