For Rubio? Sure. Would a team trade Rubio for Bayless after the year he had? Not a chance.

I don't know how much trade stock Jerryd has, but I'm guessing KP would not be operating from a position of strength after the lackluster season he had.

I wouldnt go that low IMO.. but I'd say 8-10

I think Bayless' value is probably low, since he wasn't given a chance to develop in any visible manner. Thus, I think his actual value is considerably higher than his trade value.

If a team wanted to offer something near what I consider his actual value, I'd be interested in using Bayless to trade up. I think his value is something like a #5 pick. But there's no one expected to be at #5 that I'd want, so I'd only do a trade if I could do something like Bayless + Portland's pick for a top-two selection. Which I'd use to select Rubio.

and if we could somehow use Free Agent Money on someone like Bibby or Kidd or Miller.. then I would throw Blake in that too if they didnt want Channing like you said.

At this point, I would be very surprised if we got anything of value for Bayless in a trade. It makes more sense to keep him for another season and try to find out what he can really do.

Same. Rubio would be amazing to have on this team but if Rubio went #1 I would not mind having

I hope management also takes a good look at Brandon Jennings as dude really impressed me at the McD's game. Very fast/athletic and much more of a PG then Bayless. Obviously a HS All Star game isn't the end all, but dude looked legit

Have not seen him at all - so I can not really offer an educated opinion.

I know next to nothing about any of the members of this year's draft class (thank god). It was nice to not have to pay attention to all of that in order to get excited.

Given that, I don't think Bayless has much trade value right now. So, you kind of have to keep him and just hope he does have something down the line. I don't see us getting a valuable piece for him at this point. He did next to nothing this season and showed that he still needs to develop PG skills and a jumpshot.

I think we should lure him in Phoenix's direction, they know his potential down there and need a positive local story desperately after how poor perception is there right now.

The problem is the only player from there I would want is Nash, and we know he's a more than controversial figure in here.

I recommend you guys watch Gunnin for that #1 spot..Bayless won co-mvp of that Elite 24 game and his jumper was butter.
It is hard to play well when you are on a short leash and always looking over your shoulder. When Blake went out, Jerryd was dynamite.....his game against the Nets showed flashes.

We need a vet. I say let Bayless develop and bring in Andre Miller or Jason Kidd. Bayless has all the tools we need. He's big, he's strong, and he's quick. He just needs time. The guy is still a kid. Let him develop. In a league of quick point guards, Bayless has all the tools to be a defensive stopper.

I know I'm a minority but I'm not that high on Bayless. I had hopes for him but what I saw during the season (with a few exceptions) just didn't excite me. He can penetrate but can't finish very well and his court vision/passing is suspect. I think he's better and has more upside than Jack, but that is who he reminds me of. Someone with a good work ethic but who isn't really a PG but an undersized SG. There are rare cases where someone can change and be highly successful (see Billups) but overall, it is not a recipe for great success.

If a decent offer came, I'd trade him and not look back. That said, I'm not a Sergio fan either - just like Bayless, he showed occasional flashes of "if only he could do that on a consistent basis" but his defense is nil, shooting suspect but he does have pretty good court vision.

Ideally, I'd like a good veteran PG (Miller, Bibby, Kidd) that has a few decent years left paired with a legitimate young PG (not a PG wannabe). I like Blake but view him as an good backup PG - someone who generally won't win you a game due to their outstanding play, but also someone who generally won't lose you a game due to their poor play. Solid if unexciting.

Now, to the question at hand, trade Bayless for a top pick? If we can get a high quality top pick that fits a need (good backup PF, PG prospect), I'm all for it, otherwise, we need "seasoned" not someone who needs to be seasoned.

I don't think you'd get a 1st round pick for him alone, so I'd keep him as a 4th SG until we could get a very solid PF for him.
