What do you give the Blazers for the Trade Deadline?

To me, an A would constitute a home run. To me, this is just some very shrewd, very solid management by Neil. Maybe not a home run, but very very solid.

In 2021, this may become a retroactive A, depending on how bad Cleveland gets.

So all we lost was Tim Frazier and an insignificant amount of cap space and in return we get a 1st and Brian Roberts? How is that not an A?

Cause we should have got rid of Meyers

hahha no. I just don't give out A's too much. A B is pretty much an A in my book. A is reserved for those special years.

Who the hell is Brian Roberts!!!!???? WHO HE PLAY FOR?

agree, there was a lot of talk about big time players being moved nothing happened, we get a lot of complaints about not getting anything for our capspace - at least today we got some future value for it and a better backup PG

I went B-, and was considering C. With $15M in cap room, a starting caliber guard making only $6M, and several young players on manageable contracts, I'd have thought they would have been able to return some better assets than a first round pick 2 years from now.

The moves made sense, but didn't seem to accomplish much.

I tend to agree that I would have been more willing to give an "A" if we had dealt Meyers for something of value. I still think we're going to overpay to keep him, and he could eventually be considered one of the worst contracts in the league if he doesn't continue to develop.

Exactly. These moves are fine. But I expected better picks in return. And now Henderson will walk in the summer and leave us with nothing in return. Meaning yet another FA leaving us for a player named "capspace."

You expected better picks in return? What?

Interesting set of parameters... Don't you think it's better to grade based on what actually happened rather than what you may believe could have happened?

What, like a pass/fail grading system? Either we won the trade or we didn't?

I guess the other way to look at it is on a bell curve in comparison to other teams' trade deadline deals. I think the Pistons did better than we did; I'd say the Nuggets did better; if the pick the Grizz got from LA is 2016 or 2017, I'd say they did better too. Yeah, B-.

I gave a B+. It was a pair of solid moves but neither one effectively moved the needle. Neil will use the pick well. We upgraded at backup PG.

1) who says we can't use the pick (in a trade) in the next 2 years?
2) you want to get YOUNGER?

We can use them in trade for improved talent, but they're of lesser value the further out they are.

I like the addition of tradeable assets. Blazer will be player in the summer for sure in terms of real upgrades.

How so? What if we got an Allen Crabbe in 2018? Value in a draft is not depreciated like a car....
