I like the Britton trade (that's if the trade is completed) as it gives the Yanks a former all-star left handed closer. He can close games or come in and give an inning or two for a struggling starter.

Now, Cashman needs to get a top-tier starting pitcher and we will be ready to rock for the rest of the season.

...hey man, I'm not a Blazers fan but I have been posting in their O/T threads... glad to see you post over here...don't be a stranger.

Saw a brief video of Britton speaking of his trade. The man has a great attitude, stated that the Yankees had some folks in the pen who were pretty good and looks forward to earning his role. Best that the Yankees got him over the other contenders. I'm a bit surprised that Baltimore would let him go to a division rival.

The Orioles and Chris Tillman have officially parted ways as per MLB.Com.

Andriese from Rays to Diamondbacks for Michael Perez C and Brian Shaffer P as per Ken Rosenthal.

Pirates announce acquisition of J.A. Happ from The Mariners as per Ken Rosenthal.

^^^ Hamels is just another middle of the rotation guy IMO and we've already got about 3 of those on our staff already...and unless Cashman can somehow get another front end of the rotation we might as well just go with what we've got and save our young prospects.

We do NOT need Hamels or Happ. They are not the type of pitchers that will help us win a World Series. We either need to be ok with losing some top prospects in hopes of getting a top pitcher or we will have to reside in the fact that this team is what it will be and hope we can out score our opponents in the post season, which with how this offense has been going doesn’t seem likely.

The Yankees are close to signing J.A. Happ as per Jon Heyman.

^^^Hmmm....unless someone else with a sizable salary is packaged with Drury that put the Yanx very close to going over the cap.

Edit; maybe not, as near as I can tell the Yanx were still $8.2 Mil under the cap.

Billy McKinney but not confirmed yet as per Jon Heyman.

I'm glad they didn't give up a young starter for him.

Just saw on Yahoo Sports per Rosenthal Drury & Mc Kinney to Toronto for Happ. I really don't know how much he'll bring, the man is 35 years old. The I know so are Verlamder & Morton but they reside close to Doctor Clemens.

Two positives for the Happ trade: he usually plays well against Boston the past couple of seasons and he regularly pitches 5 or more innings with each game started.

Ron Food and Wine has Hot Cheetos Cupcakes gross.

...with Judge and Sanchez out of the lineup for awhile will possibly seek to find another bat to help fill the offensive void left by the 2 DL casualties.

You can’t really replace Judge, and we already have Walker to fill in for Sanchez’ woeful hitting hahaha.
