Trade Deadline: Thursday, Feb 20, 12:00 Pacific

Welcome to our community

Be a part of something great, join today!

But they weren't going to take what we had to offer, they didn't want to take on any additional salary for next year.

We don't know what they would and would not take. I personally have no idea if Neil called the Sixers. We also don't know that a third team couldn't have been involved to get the 2nd rounders that they sought. Who knows. I'm just saying that they took a huge pile of nothing for those two players.

I'm hoping the quiet day for the Blazers today means big moves in the offseason.

I don't think Neil is going to sit on his hands. I also think he's not going to make a trade just to make a trade.

I view him as someone that will be looking for the HR

Traded a lot of young assets to land Chris Paul. I wonder if he is looking to strike again.

I want to say yes.

I think we need a third star. We currently don't have anyone even close to being a third star. Batum is a role player. Wes is a role player. I think Neil knows this.

That comment is so far off base as to be....'baffling'. I addressed the off-season issues and look at things very much from a big picture versus one game or knee jerk. I've had the good fortune and opportunity to speak with GM's face to face and have long-term vs immediate return discussions that were very fascinating.

Happy to discuss what I posted that was so uniquely 'Now' oriented. Please link/quote.

Oh gawd. Another poster who claims he's, "in the know".

There's still a lot of guests looking at this thread over what's normal, leave their work computers on here or something?

I'm looking over the reference post and I don't see anywhere that "in the know" is referred to or implied in the least. Just mentioned that I had the good fortune of getting the chance to speak with a couple of GMs in a 1-on-1 basis and it was fascinating. Nothing more. Anything else inferred from that has nothing to do with the post....or 'gawd'. :D

I've seen this type of poster over my years posting on blazer boards. Someone claims they talked to a GM and suddenly they're an expert in all things that have to do with trades.

Pretty soon you're going to be teasing the masses with, "the little birdie told me" type shenanigans.

Yawn.

Just because he has not been on this board very long does not mean he has not posted anywhere. I can tell you from knowing him for years that this is what you get. If he has something, he might be able to share it. He is not going to make something up just to get attention. NBA sources come and go.

As for grading Olshey at the deadline, it is far better to get a player at the beginning of the season than with thirty games left IMO. Let's see what we have with the players on the roster now as there are way too many projects for my liking.

I've known TB for several years he doesn't make stuff up.

I doubt we make any huge moves trade wise. Now if we could get an older yet effective FA to come here I would be pumped... Just think how kick ass it would be to land Pau.

Charcoal Filtered, Fez and Schilly....thanks for the back up. I'm not sure even what the big deal is. There was another long-time poster who also had some of the same opportunities. He is a Draft guru and has been amazingly accurate with his talent projections over the years.

It was an opportunity that was great at the time that doesn't nearly exist to that extent anymore for either of us. That didn't make it less fascinating or less true.

Because of my job, there has been an opportunity to get to know and work with some of the media and out of that sometimes comes some interesting takes or information. Sometimes it can be shared, sometimes hinted at or sometimes not mentioned at all. Their confidence is more important to me and others who have some of the same opportunities than anything someone might think of what we say or post.

Hopefully when it can be shared, it creates a fun discussion for us all and helps to enhance the fan experience.
