I guess they’ll put Tro back into the lineup lol don’t forget that third round pick Drury got for Carrick lol amazing job

AV’s get Kadri back. His it to the very end so now all the other dumb fuck GM’s who wouldn’t give up proper value for Trocheck just got butt fucked.

Othmann for Battaglia. Similar players but Battaglia is 19. Wish Othmann the best.

Yep, another first round wasted pick traded for penny on a dollar. This new prospect sounds like he sucks at skating so yeah typical Drury’s guy

To recap. The Rangers/Drury sends out a letter to the fans stating the WAY out of the playoffs terrible team was going to reboot this year, not sure why you need a letter to state a terrible team isn't going for it, but okay Drury decides the right approach is to send a letter for some odd reason. Drury then follows up in multiple interviews saying this is a reboot not a rebuild. We get to the trade DL and Drury trades away two UFA's to be, a 4th line player making $1M next season, adds no first or second round picks, and punts on another 1st round pick trading Othmann for a lesser prospect who cannot skate. Interesting stuff.

What the F was the point of sending a letter? To let fans know a team that is WAY out of the playoffs won't be going for it this season? Was a letter necessary or does it make them look foolish and clueless (we know the answer to that rhetorical question)? What it does, YET AGAIN, is make the Rangers look like a second-rate organization. A letter sent for an awful team to trade away UFA's to be and a 4th liner? WTF is wrong with Drury.

We all know he's awful and has absolutely no plan at all, that is very clear by his record and results, but I'm starting to wonder if he's intentionally trying to sabotage this organization. Can any Pres/GM of a major organization, especially in NYC, be this bad and inept without trying to be this bad and inept? I feel like we're all on some hidden camera got you TV show. This has to be intentional now; Drury is that horrific.

It's funny (sad), the first game after the Olympic break they had a little ceremony for the Rangers who were part of team USA. When the PA announcer said Drury's name boos started, and he couldn't have said Sullivan's name fast enough. Everyone else announced the PA guy waited a few seconds so the fans could appreciate them, for Drury it was instantly onto Sullivan due to the boos.

I really wish Dolan wasn't a total waste of space owner, I contend any bad owner would have fired Drury by now. Sadly, Dolan is worse than a bad owner, he is a terrible clueless owner, so Drury keeps his job and continues to destroy the organization.

Maybe Drury will fire the coach again this summer and go for 4 coaches in 5 seasons, after all it clearly isn't Drury's fault, let's fire another SC winning coach and make them the scapegoat.

I'm going to send a letter out to fans telling them a last place bottom 4 team in the whole NHL is trading away two UFA's to be and a 4th liner at the trade DL. I am so thankful Drury sent that letter, without it I would have thought the Rangers were going to be buyers at the DL. He really cleared that one up for the fans. He's so thoughtful.

Go Drury!!!

Words from a very clueless WAY in over his head (as I said the second he was promoted) guy:

“We will always continue to try and make the team better. It certainly doesn’t stop today at the 3 o’clock deadline”

“It didn’t make any sense to do something just to say we did it, or to do something just because we wrote a letter”

“Vincent Trocheck is a great player. He’s been a great Ranger for us and a leader on and off the ice,” the GM said. “Broadly speaking, to any player in the organization as it pertains to a retool and this trade deadline and moving forward, we’re going to make deals that make sense. The deals we made today and leading up to this deadline, to us made sense”

“I think it’s not just this deadline, but when you’re trying to put deals together and you already have something in mind — whether it’s me or the other general manager — just try to stick with it and make the best deal you can,” he said. “Things ebb and flow in conversations over time. At the end of the day, there is a deadline"

“Teams will be looking at free agents and different things, and maybe moving draft picks once picks are set in stone after the lottery and after the playoffs,” he said. “So a lot of factors that go into it, and we’ll certainly be ready and opportunistic when and where we can”

“When push comes to shove,” he said, “our goal is to make deals that make sense for the organization. Just how it ended up today”

No one will say it, or care because Othmann hasn't done S here, but that was a horrific trade. Someone please enlighten me, what the F is the point of trading Othmann for a much lesser prospect who cannot skate. It makes absolutely no sense to me making this trade. Keep Othmann and see if he can get his confidence back and rebuild the potential Drury thought he had when he selected Othmann in the 1st round, or when he scored 50 goals in 66 OHL games and scored 21 goals during his rookie season in the AHL.

To cut bait on him for a whatever kid makes no sense, and yet again shows Drury has ZERO plan.

Drury's words: Patience, the right trade wasn't there, and we weren't going to force anything. BUT he will force it and punt on Othmann.

Ridiculous and inconsistent with no plan as always for awful terrible Drury.

Chuck, you need to get your fucking head out of your ass when you talk about prospects. All you do is look at the scouting report right before they’re drafted. You don’t look at the scouting reports a year or two or three years later. A lot of these guys who are bigger guys improve their skating cause it’s just a matter of leg strength and growing into their body. So before you comment on skating, do some research and stop being fucking lazy and look at up-to-date scouting reports.

This was older from 2024 which tells you about the rest of his game before he worked on his skating.

I supported Othmann, but the reality is he stands around all day and doesn’t get involved in the play, which is why he doesn’t create any chances. He’s also 23 years old. This kid is 19. Skating according to the newest scouting reports is now a strength for Greentree. Hopefully this kid will follow suit. Skating was not Othmann’s problem. Effort was.

Here's just one recent comment:

Jacob Battaglia, acquired by the Rangers, was going to be an honorable mention in my upcoming Flames pool ranking, though he’ll be higher in a thinner Rangers pool.

He’s a hard-shooting winger with good secondary skill. Below-average skating could be a limiter up levels.

Bottom line, Drury is awful, terrible, has absolutely no plan at all, and has destroyed this organization. That's it really.

Laba is a very good skater. Does not matter. The rest of his game other than faceoffs isn't above average. Doesn't have a great shot. He's not offensively creative. He's not a great passer. He isn't physical. His ability to take hits needs works as well as his strength. To me, he will be one of the elite 4th line centers in the game when he fills out. You are obsessed with skating. Panarin is hardly a great skater. However, he knows how to play the game and his other skills are elite. Greentree before he improved his skating a ton was about 220 lbs with a howitzer shot arsenal. Very strong. Great hockey IQ and puck control. The toolbox was there everywhere else. Battaglia is somewhat similar now. In his draft year Battaglia was similar to Othmann. However, he improved his game. Othmann doesn't seem to have done that.

"A younger version of Battaglia based his game on his high-level shooting and instincts, but suffered in skating and agility to catch up to unpredictable on-ice environments, leading to a less well-rounded player in past years. However, the 2024-2025 version of Battaglia has improved his skating and agility, helped by his strength training and off-season efforts. Almost all hockey players spend the off-season working out, but Battaglia’s work has led to dynamic rush impacts, net-front drives, the ability to change speeds better with the puck, and more time and space overall for the skilled forward to create."

You suffer from the same fucking stupidity as always. You have no patience. You read the scouting report from before they are drafted. Nothing afterwords. You thickhead mule. Othmann as most Rangers forwards was not developed properly. However, there are 2 things that are on him that I noticed. One, doesn't dog the puck and stands around watching all day which is a trait 18 and 19 year olds have. Not 23 year old players that know what they are doing. Two, he is easily knocked off the puck in the corners. That tells me he's not dedicated with his strength training which at 23 is a problem. There is still hope for him but he's been a lazy hockey player and doesn't seem to grasp that.

The other thing about Battaglia is he has been moved to center and in his first year has won almost 50% of his draws which is interesting.

Uuuummmmmm....I think by definition every single Rangers fan in the whole entire world knows nothing but patience...that's what one Cup in 86 years will do...teach "patience"...lol.

You are obsessed with prospects. Truth be told, there is no one on this board wrong more often than you, and yet you go on and on about prospect X and prospect Y, and 99.9% of them never turn into anything, if they even make the NHL.

I have written this before, I am 100% convinced you have no interest in actually winning, all you want to do is talk up prospects that aren't good, and pretend they are. And advocate for getting more of those prospects, that never turn into anything. You rather talk about prospects than winning, and you have been like that forever. It's who you are, and that's fine, and your right, but don't get on other fans who actually want to win a Cup, and aren't obsessed with maybe if they're lucky, 4th line/3rd pair prospects.

And BTW, maybe Battaglia will turn out to be a decent bottom 6 player, I have no clue. My point is I wouldn't have punted on Othmann for a chance maybe Battaglia could be a bottom 6 player. I would much rather have worked with Othmann on his game and confidence; he is a former first round pick who was looked at with potential to be a top 6 player when Drury drafted him. I prefer that approach rather than punt for a lesser prospect. That's just my opinion though. I'm not very "upset" about trading Othmann, by itself it really is what it is, but bigger picture it's a cherry on top of the mess and disaster that is Chris Drury.

Every article you read essentially says the Rangers have nothing to look forward to. An empty system, and a bad team on the ice. After the trade DL the clear expectation is Trocheck will be traded this summer for sure, but who knows, and even if he is can Drury hit the grand slam HR needed to give us any hope, based on his track record I'd say highly doubtful.

It's tough, but there really isn't anything to look forward to or be hopeful about. I guess maybe the one possibility is the Rangers win the draft lottery and get the # 1 pick, and even that, while nice, wouldn't be the end all because there is no generational stud player in this year's draft. It appears this draft class is more about the depth of good quality players rather than a top stud or two.
