they can get a few picks back, especially if Yanlde doesnt resign. They can trade his rights and i think they can do it to Staal too

i honestly thought Saarela would be on the Rangers. I could hear Rosen saying "Saarelaaaa" but i could also see him on the Canes... He was a 3rd rounder, young but having a good season on a team being carried by two 20 year olds and a 18 year old (him)

chuck,
Saarela IS a top prospect. On top of that they are giving up even more picks. It's pretty much the same as Yandle's deal. They better fucking win the cup.

You are nuts Step. Not going to debate with you. All you do is whine and complain. So you keep doing what you do. The few of us that are objective will root like heck for this team and hope for the best.

We are now upset over dealing a couple of later 2nd's and a decent but no way top prospect for Staal. Crazy stuff.

I'm with Chuck on this one... The picks can be recouped especially if Yandle and Staal do not resign. They could trade their rights to interested teams for a 3-4th round pick. If the Leafs are keen on giving him huge money their 3rd round pick will be a few picks away from the Rangers second

Saarela... only 18 and is one of the leading point getters on his team but hes 3 - 5 years away from doing anything for this team

You people have fallen in love with old, overpaid rejects again. You never learn. You starting to be just as dumb as Sather was when he first got here and thought he could win a title.

Team has no choice dump not with Hank pushing 35. You have to try and win a cup.

They gave up less then Chicago gave up for Ladd IMO. Staal has more upside too

With Hank turning 34 next week AND deciding to keep Yandle and let him walk for nothing this summer, this is a move that had to be made. That simple really.

This trade is an awesome trade. Staal only wanted to come here, and it showed. No 1st rounder and none of our top top prospects.

It's a good trade. They weren't getting him for nothing.. Chuck and others are right. Hank is old. The time is now! Plus like I keep saying they can recoup the picks.. If the Leafs are going to throw big money at Staal then they can trade his rights for a pick. Same with Yandle

I don't hear anyone whining in CHI about giving up a 1st for Vermette last year.. Was he worth it NO, but you can't argue that he didn't score some big goals for them

stop bringing up the hawks. We don't have Patrick Kanes and Toews and Duncan Keithes on this team.

thats not the point step.. The point is teams will grab players at the deadline and pay a high price hoping for a good return. At times Vermette was scratched last year but he scored big goals for them

Caps added Winnik, and may add more today. We need to add that one more piece IMO. They are going to be REAL tough in round two if we get by the Isles in round one.

Damn...

Oh please. You're so obsessed with what other teams do and then you panic. You went nuts when the Penguins added him and he sucked and did nothing in the playoffs.

We need another bottom 6 guy who can fill in for Glass/injury.. I heard rumors of Max Talbot... He's a great role player but not since he left PITT

CHI can do whatever the heck they want. Winning 3 Cups in 6yrs gives you that kind of street cred.

Boedker to the Avs for Bleackley (20yo, 1st rounder), Wood (19yo, 3rd rounder) and Tanguay. Good haul by the 'Yotes who were going to lose Boedker for nothing in the offseason.

Appears that way. Pirri went to the Ducks for a 6th rounder, I would have loved to get him for that. Is what it is. This is the team. We have the horses on paper, now we'll see if we can get it done finally.

Isles, and if we get through that series, the Caps.

Good times.

...............and the f'king Devils get a 2nd &
4th round picks for Stempniak from panicking
Bruins. What did Rangers get for trading
Stempniak? As usual, it's a crazy world
in the NHL.

Glass will the odd man out in the playoffs where players don't goon it up because they don't want to take penalties. Glass who is 99% useless is 100% useless in the playoffs.
