It actually makes some sense for Wizards if they really want Nurkic. Mahinmi is just as bad as Meyers and Turner (only $11M or so less expensive) and they could find use for Turner off the bench.

The bigger question would be, does Nurkic want to go to the Wiz? If he doesn't then it won't happen

I heard Wizards rumored as one of the teams interested in Nurkic. They can’t offer him more than MLE because they are in cap hell, however we could do a sign and trade deal that would facilitate this move.

Would you do Otto Porter for Nurkic in a sign and trade? Nurk is probably going to make much less than him so it would save Washington some money and we would get a competent wing that could help our scoring, albeit a very expensive one.

2 words:

Fuck no

@BonesJones....

2 players I'm sick of seeing you try to add to the roster:

George sorry ass Hill

Tobias Ugly ass Harris

Just stop with these two and we'll be cool.

George Hill has a 20 piece tonight. You underrated him.

What the hell is wrong with Tobias Harris? Dudes a great player...

POR Gets: 21st pick, Tobias Harris, Boban Marjonovic
LAC Gets: Meyers Leonard, Thabo Sefelosha, 2019 POR 1st, 2019 Best of MIN/LAL 2nds, 2020 POR 2nd
UTAH Gets: 24th Pick, Al-Farouq Aminu, Jake Layman*

LAC - Can decline Sefelosha's team option and save apx. $13M next year. Leonard and Marjonovic have similar contracts. They also get a 1st and some 2nds.
UTAH - Moves down 3 spots to swap out the injured Sefelosha (they have a ton of wings) for Aminu. Favors is likely to move on next year, and a 3-and-D PF makes sense in their lineup.
POR - Gets a legit starting PF on the final year of his contract who's still young. Uses the 21st pick on Hutchison (we move ahead of Chicago so we can take him)

NYK Gets: Evan Turner, Caleb Swanigan, 2021 POR 2nd, 2021 MIA 2nd
POR Gets: Otto Porter Jr, Courtney Lee*, Lance Thomas
WAS Gets: Maurice Harkless, 2021 POR 1st,

NYK - Consolidates the two remaining years on Thomas and Lee's contracts (apx. $19M per year) into Turner (apx. $18M per year), a young PF prospect (Porzingas is hurt and Beasley is a FA and was the only backup PF), and 2nd round picks.
WAS - Saves $14M which allows them to use the full MLE and avoid the luxury tax. Harkless replaces Porter in the lineup and can replace some of his production. Opens up more minutes for Oubre. They also get a 1st round pick.
POR - Gets a legit starting SF and a backup SG.

Lillard (36) / McCollum (12)
McCollum (24) / Lee (24)
Porter Jr. (33) / Hutchison (8) / Harris (7)
Harris (26) / Collins (22)
Nurkic (30) / Davis (18)

While this roster is pretty intriguing, I love the draft too much to give up all that future draft capital, but that is just me. I think there are too many moving parts in this trade.

Porter and Harris are young. We gotta trade future picks to upgrade our team. This starting lineup would be a top 5 starting unit in the league.

Lol who do you think are realistic option to legitimately upgrade our roster?

I don't think getting rid of Nurk does that.

I liked your trade above. Literally.

My post was an obvious joke. But some truth was said in jest.

Whether or not I agree with them, at least your trade scenarios are logical and thought out.

I'm just not a fan of George Hill. He's got a soft demeanor that I can't really fuck with. And Tobias Harris doesn't really play D.

Tobias is an average defender. Not bad, not good. What he brings us offensively would be game-changing.

I said it was an intriguing roster...

I just don't like trading future picks (unless it's for something really, really good which this is close but not both 2019 and 2021 and all those 2nds). The Spurs never really trade future picks and always seem to find ways to upgrade their roster.

That's because of Pop. We don't have Pop.

2019 is a weak draft. I don't want to keep that pick.

I’m not a fan of trading future picks, just because of the uncertainty. What if it’s a lotto pick? This team as constructed is one injury away from just that. You ready to risk that for Tobias Harris? I’m not. I’m ok with trading our current pick though, and I’d be surprised if we didn’t trade it.

Just my philosophy, I don't really care how weak the draft is projected as there are always diamonds in the rough. I don't mind seeing your ideas though.

I just think that core is a potential contender. Losing two first round picks for Porter and Harris would be worth it IMO. Drafts are good if you can't add big time players via trade, as that's the only other way to add them (for us).

But it's too random in the draft.. getting some established that can help right now should be Plan A. And a guy drafted out of the lottery in 2021 likely wouldnt help us until after Dames prime.

I don’t know how anyone can judge the 2019 class before any of the freshman have even played a game yet, but I do know next years class includes Doumbouya who I think will be a superstar in the nba.

Thats why you protect them...?

Doumbaya will be a top 10 pick. Protect it for the top 10... You don't trade unprotected picks.

Lmao...

Why would Golden State do that? What...
You guys wanna sit around and theorize trades for washed up bench peices, this team isn’t a couple bench peices away. They need a legit megadeal. Believe it or not Dray has had a down year this season and how do you expect GS to pay Curry/Durant/Dray/and Klay? It’s not happening, the best way to get value for one is to trade one before their free agent year. Dray and Klay aren’t taking hometown discounts.

Lmao.

Stop.

They're not splitting up their big 4 this off-season. Theorize in the realistic.

Probably. That's if, Denver would even go for the deal. We might have to send Swanigan to them in a separate deal or give them a second round draft pick or something.

Just my opinion, if we don't keep Davis here, its a miss.

This would be great, Faried's salary for this season is $12,921,348 which I believe would fit into the Crabbe TPE if the deal is completed before or at the draft right? I think we'd have to say goodbye to Ed Davis if this happened though.

The Denver Nuggets continue to pursue a trade of Kenneth Faried, who has been out of their rotation for some time now.

"The Nuggets have been trying to get off of Kenneth Faried's contract for a year plus," said Wojnarowski. "They're a candidate to use that 14th pick to get off of that salary."

Faried has one more season at $13.8 million on his contract and moving that salary could help give the Nuggets cap flexibility.

I'll do it when DEN is on the clock, but not before. I'll hold out for something better for as long as possible. But yeah, if that's the best we can do then take it.

oops, I see this was already discussed in the trade thread. Please merge this to that thread.
