Dallas values Barnes. They already got a lot of little solid rotation pieces. I just dont see why they'd do it at all.
 
How much longer will Anthony Davis tolerate losing in NO?

CJ/Zach/Aminu/Simons for AD and E'tuawn Moore works. Throw in two more first rounders from 19/21.

Lol you think Neil is gonna trade Zach AND CJ, whatrya nuts?

The most realistic target in Washington imo is Oubre. He could probably be had for a first, especially if you’re not sending money back. But I don’t even see the point of that. Just one more guy to stand around and watch CJ/Dame.

This is a trade ideas thread. Consideration of what Neil would actually do would result in this thread remaining blank.

For this thread, all I'm interested in is: a) would the other team consider it, and; b) could it make the Blazers better.

I'm of the opinion that Wall is the main problem there. They were actually playing decent team ball without him when he got hurt (was that last year?).

Beal is going to get back a better return than that though. Plus that is a lot of both immediate and long term salary to take on given the current ownership situation so it might be a case where neither team would go for it.

What do you think Beal will fetch? He and CJ are basically the same guy statistically.

Jaylen Brown has as much trade value as CJ, and makes more sense for a rebuilding team. You're talking about a Sacremento pick that should be top 8, and could be top 3, as well as more/better picks that BOS could attach.

Again, fans overrate CJs trade value (most of whom bash CJ as a player)...

I don't think Beal and CJ are the same at all, even if stats show it. Beal is a little taller and only 25 which is almost 2 years younger than CJ. They both have advantages over the other one but one of the big things holding Beal back was injuries and he seems to be better the last couple years with that.

Not that cbssports is in the know but they had a couple of trade ideas for Beal:

Zhaire Smith, Wilson Chandler, Markelle Fultz, and Miami's unprotected 2021 1st rounder from Philly.

Josh Richardson, Tyler Johnson, and a 2019 1st from Miami.

So it looks like a good young player and a decent 1st round pick at the very least was what I was thinking.

Monk, Bridges, Picks, and salary filler isn't that bad. I wouldn't do it if I was Washington but that isn't terrible.

I'm guessing they'd have to take on Nic's or Biyombo's contract too to match $. That makes it a lot worse.

Zach’s ceiling is higher than Browns. Brown hasn’t really shown potential to be anything more than a role player.
 
To be fair, Monk has been a complete bust so far. IMO he's the reason why they fired Cho.

Not necessarily...

MKG, Lamb, Monk, and Bridges works. It saves Washington a ton of money, even when MKG opts in next year.

MKG, Kaminsky, Monk, and Bridges also works.

Crazy 6 for 1: Kaminsky, Lamb, Monk, Bridges, Hernangomez, and Bacon for Beal. Washington takes on very little long term money.

Call me crazy, but I like Lamb better than Beal.

Just realized that almost sounds like a culinary commentary...

While Lamb is underrated, I don't think comparing PER and TS% tells the full story and I also think that they're pretty close defensively.

OK, but I'm really not seeing any material difference offensively between them, aside from their role.

Personally, if Charlotte pursues a Beal deal, and consequently sees Lamb as expendable, I would gladly take Lamb as a CJ replacement in an Otto Porter deal. Something like this, for example:

I already have. He's a comparable shooter to Beal, and better defensively. Compared to CJ, he's better off the ball, and also significantly cheaper than both.

In terms of how attractive various aspects of the three are to the teams, I have them ranked like this:

Shooting: CJ>Beal~Lamb
Size: Beal~Lamb>CJ
Defense: Lamb>Beal>CJ
Cost: Lamb>Beal=CJ
Age: Beal>Lamb>CJ
Team Control: CJ=Beal>Lamb

Basically, I don't see a huge difference between the three in how they'd contribute to the team's success, but I think Beal is overrated and Lamb is underrated. As a result, I think Lamb would likely be available as a trade casualty if the Hornets are pursuing Beal, and the Blazers could/would benefit as a result.

Hmmm, that is interesting. It would be nice if we could include Turner instead of Harkless and/or Aminu (it still works with just Turner going to Washington or Turner going to Washington and Aminu to Charlotte).

I could probably be talked into that even though I think you are overvaluing Lamb still.
