How about Oubre for Swanigan? LMAO.

The Wiz have a severe lack of bigs now.

I wish. Don’t think that works financially though. We’d have to dump Baldwin on them as well. Since they’re paying even more tax than Portland, I’m guessing they ideally wouldn’t want any salary back. It’s also why I don’t think it’ll happen. We’d add to the bill and still would have to pay him in the summer.

Just thinking out loud... I think Neil would give up Collins for Gordon Hayward.

They just got a trade exception big enough to take on Biggie in the Dekker trade and we obviously still have the Vonleh one.

Not sure why this board is so interested in Oubre...

I'd much rather keep our pick.
With where the Blazers will be picking I dont really care about either. Oubre doesnt do much for me , but Neil picking another guy who wont be ready until their rookie contract is almost up isnt all that fascinating either...

It’s a lot more realistic than Otto Porter, and by that I mean it has maybe a 5% chance while the other has a 1%. Washington isn’t going to just dump Porter. They would want someone like Collins. Oubre is much more likely, but even that isn’t realistic because I can’t see Portland pumped about paying him.

I want Gordon Hayward. That won’t be cheap either but he’s a better player than Porter.

Only if Pops comes in the deal. LA without Pops is crap.
I disagree. As much as i'm still pissed at Benedict Aldridge, he would be the "perfect piece" to our puzzle. Nurk and LaMarcus would be an awesome frontcourt. LA has learned from Pop. If the Blazer could mange that trade i'd love it. As much as I hate what LA did, I still respect how wonderful his game is.

If LMA sucked so bad, then why were Blazer fans upset he left... Truth is LMA was a good player and is still a pretty good player. You could argue his game isnt really “modern nba”, but acting like he’s awful seems off base to me. I agree with you Tykendo.

As long as we stick with CJ (along with Dame duh) a “third scorer” sounds better in theory than reality. Those two average roughly 40 shots a game. So, for example, someone like Porter may get even fewer looks in Portland than he does in Washington. And if you commit to giving a Porter 15 shots or whatever, you’re pretty much isolating everyone else on the roster, specifically Nurkic and Collins. We’d become even more perimeter oriented than we are now and neither CJ or Porter get to the line.

So unless we trade CJ, our ideal targets should be more along the lines of prime Ariza.
A wing that can defend and space the floor, but doesn’t necessarily need the ball in his hands. Porter could be that player in a vacuum, but you don’t pay a guy max money to be Trevor Ariza.

Pretty much what I’m trying to say is we need to trade CJ if we want to take a significant leap. Otherwise we’re just polishing.

How desperate is Sacramento to recoup a 1st round pick in the 2019 draft? Give them a 2019 1st (top-4 protected) plus a 2020 and 2021 2nd round pick.

Olshey could basically erase all his wrongdoings in one trade if he could pull something like this off. I doubt Sacramento would do it anyway.

I don't see why they wouldn't, to be honest.

Or having another legitimate piece means those guys can take less shots.

I really wonder is CJ is being overvalued in most of these trade ideas

he has the 19th highest salary and the 16th biggest contract but he ranks 120th in PER, 183rd in winshare/48, 206th in TrueShooting%, and 173rd in assist rate.

But none of those stats take into account his value on the defensive end. Wait . . .

I don't believe a lot of teams would want CJ on their roster to be honest considering his contract, his nonexistent playmaking and his defensive issues. We talk about making a big change, but it's much more difficult than it sounds to find a team willing to take him.

Detroit would be a good fit for him. They need a scoring guard. CJ does fine running a team when Lillard has been out. His defense wouldn't be as much of a problem next to a better defender either.

Exactly. I'm sick of hearing how Dame needs to get his teammates involved. Isaiah Thomas for one, needs to open his eyes. Dame does. Dame does pass it to his teammates nonstop, only to see(Nurk excluded), teammates passing up open looks, missing open looks, or losing the ball. Dame should be averaging another 2 assist a game. CJ is just not that good a passer, and tries a few too many no lookers. He needs to improve for sure. But Dame would get Porter PLENTY of open looks and shots. Dame "Wants" his teammates to make shots. It makes the team better, and his job a heck of a lot easier.

Only as an idea he would be a good fit, because his contract doesn't fit considering the fact that RJax/Griffin/Drummond combine for 75M. Next to Reggie Jackson his D will be a problem as well.

Yeah, they probably won't be a player in 2019 free agency and all those guys expire in 2020 when their team will have had 1 more year of development and could possibly get more attractive for FA.

I really want Jaylen Brown. He's stuck in Boston playing behind Hayward and Tatum, and his numbers have dipped like crazy. And Kyrie is talking nonsense. Put this guy in our lineup as starting SF for 30 mpg with Dame empowering him, and he'll be back to where he was last year.

Wish Zach was playing better so we can move him. Zach and Caleb for Brown solves a lot of issues for everybody.
