Ingram just hasn’t fit with LeBron, and so far in his career has a PER of 11. That’s not good for a starter, but he’s still young and would fit in Portland. Would the Lakers give him up for CJ? I think the better question is would Olshey give up CJ, because he would be a perfect fit with LeBron.

I’d love a lineup like this in the near future

Dame
Simons
Ingram
Collins
Nurkic

Ingram would be a huge get!

This may not be popular here but Rondo, especially in the playoffs, would be a huge pickup. I really can't stand him but damn he has a high bbiq and is relentless at breaking down defenses.

They really want Dame though. So that's a no!

You’re gonna hate this because it’s the Lakers but how about a deal centered around CJ and Ingram? LA would have to add KCP and Beasley to make the money work but they’re expirings.
Well first off I think LA wouldn't want CJ because they think they can sign someone better this off season. Second of all Ingram is not a good basketball player and has a crappy attitude (on the court).

This is crazy but I'd rather watch/have CJ than Ingram. I also would rather have Hart than Ingram. If I had to choose I might even take Ball over Ingram.

I would take last years ingram on Portland any day. An unselfish wing that can score is exactly what we need.

Yeah, but this year I've seen him play probably about 10 times and each and every time I come away hoping he never becomes a Blazer. He's turned into a punk and not the good kind. He's one of those fake wannabe tough guys.

Wow! Why are you such a hater?

Ingram would be our 3rd best player and compete for second best on a regular basis. He would be a really good fit in a position of desperate need and could flourish under Dame.

That's what I though about Kobe when he first came in the league.

Based on potential or actual play on the court? He's completely overrated.

Kobe was super cocky from day one but anyone could tell how hard he worked at his game and how motivated he was to be great. Ingram seems to be more focused on being hard than working hard at basketball. I don't see a good work ethic otherwise with that athleticism he'd be great. Instead he gets by because he's athletic. I don't like trading for players like that.

I agree with the punk part. That fight he was in made him look like an uncontrollable thug. Dame could be what he needs much like Nurk situation.

His stats and some of his breakout games make him much more usable than any of our current potential SF's. If he's overrated what does that say about our current group?

Well obviously he's better than our SF situation, that isn't really proof that he isn't overrated. Our current group sucks.

I would rather have Otto Porter than Ingram, even considering contracts.

Except you're ignoring the Lakers side of it because of CJ's contract. It can't be a perfect trade if one team would never do it.

Why wouldn’t LA do it? Jimmy and Klay are the only upcoming FAs that are better (I’d argue that CJ fits LeBron better than Butler) and I doubt either one leaves their current club.

So what are you doing with Aminu after this wasted season? Re-signing him to a big deal?

well, right now, without changes, Portland will only be about 4-6M below the tax threshold. If they use their 1st round pick, that margin drops to 2-4M...and that's only for 11 players (not including Aminu, Curry, Stauskas, & Layman, and Layman will be RFA)

with ownership in limbo I'm not sure Portland will re-sign Aminu if it means gobs of tax

Which is why it would be dumb not to include him in a trade.

Trade Idea:
Portland sends CJ & AFA to Boston for Hayward & Jalen Brown

Ainge likes crafty guards, that can get hot. Smart & Rosier with CJ & Kyrie. Brown could get a new start plus he plays D.
AFA would be a better defender than Hayward plus he can play both forward positions. His energy with Smart on the floor is what they need against Toronto and/or Milwaukee.
Hayward can swing 2/3 and really help on the o side.

I did notice what you allude to, the last time we played them.

I love the idea of trading for Hayward, despite his inconsistency this season. I don’t think Boston would be interested in CJ though. They’re already too perimeter oriented as is. My idea was a first, Turner, and Harkless. Turner has proven himself with Stevens and his contract would be off the books after next season, along with Moe. That would allow Boston to be players for someone like Anthony Davis in 2020. Maybe Boston could get more from someone else, I don’t know, but that’s what I’d offer.

Jabari for Leonard, harkless and a lotto protected 1st?
