That looks great for Portland and New Orleans, but why would Toronto do that. They'd have to be totally in rebuilding mode to do that. Detroit is in rebuilding mode, and potentially gets a bigtime talent in Cunningham.
The raptors will be in a rebuilding mode once Lowry leave. And Siakam had some heated conversation with Nick Nurse. He may want to leave too. This is also the perfect time for them to trade Siakam for picks and turn that into Evan Mobley. Then tank again next year for another top prospect and they’re looking at a pretty dang good young team with Trent, OG, Mobley, 2022 top pick, Flynn, FVV

When do trades usually happen in the offseason anyway? Isn’t it usually around the draft? But we don’t have any picks this year, so could it be when free agency opens? Gonna be an interesting three weeks here either way.

I like Siakam but don't think he is a big enough name for Dame to get excited about. We need a jimmy butler, bradley beal, kawhi leonard, paul george type deal.

siakam would be a better move than at least one of those guys (Beal)

I bet one of the main guys Dame wants is Draymond, but like what is golden states plan?

I likr siakam more than Beal too. At this point though I think Dame's perception of the moves are just as important. On the court Siakam would help us, but I think a bigger splash may be needed to appease him.

If somehow this trade happened, Grant , Siakam and Boucher would be an amazing off season, and I think it would show Dame we are serious
Getting Grant and Siakam would be huge and I think Dame would probably agree since it is two lower all star level players.

If we just got one, i don't think the excitement is there. They still aren't giant names. CJ might even be an all star in the east.

I still think the most likely move is another Roco type deal. An expiring (DJJ) plus a couple firsts for a wing/PF. Who? Idk.

It really feels like the only two realistic options are Siakam and Simmons. I don’t think Olshey would trade CJ for Jerami Grant.

The only wing that is realistically available for that package (DJJ + 2 firsts) is Grant. Maybe Harrison Barnes, but Sacramento is perpetually in a will they/won't they contending phase.

The framework is DJJ + 2 picks and probably 2 swaps for Grant. Subject to what CJ + 2 picks/1 swap + Ant/Nas is moved for.

But really it doesn't matter how the picks or players are spread around between the other teams. The absolute goal should be to get two starting level wings using:

CJ
Nas
Ant
4 firsts (2022, 2024, 2026, 2028)
3 swaps (2023, 2025, 2027)

However you can achieve that depends on who is available and how teams view certain players. I have no idea about that part. Just throwing shit at the wall hoping one works. Don't think swapping CJ for a better fit will make Dame think about this roster any differently. You have to materially improve the top 5 guys that can play 36+ minutes in a playoff series game.

Interesting, I was thinking Simmons or Grant. I don't think Olshey would trade CJ for an injured player - I think I heard December, not October for Siakam's return.

yeah that would probably change things then. So it’s pretty much just Simmons, unless Olshey really goes for it and tries to get Kawhi? Gonna be a big offseason, let’s see what he comes up with.

The Blazers have been burned by injured players enough. We need HEALTHY players in return from a trade.

Harden wanted to trade for Westbrook and a few months later was demanding a trade.

I think it's more important to get a player that best improves the team than immediately appease Dame. I see Dame giving whoever we acquire a chance, Siakam was an All NBA player.

I wonder how many picks it would take for Orlando to part with Isaac. Clearly they thought he was worth investing in even after he tore his ACL. Wonder if Simons+DJJ+2 firsts/2 swaps is enough.

Huge Isaac fan, I would definitely consider this if the 2 1st were something like top-10 protected. I don’t see why the Magic would do this though if Anfernee is the best piece coming back though. They’ll likely grab Green in the draft. Anfernee is a better player than Anthony, but neither are real PGs. Fultz will be back eventually. Gary Harris and Terrence Ross are on the team also.

If they were to pick a guard between CJ and Anfernee, I bet they’d likely want CJ because he’s already been a 20ppg guy who can at least improve their PG situation from where it is now with Fultz/Anthony. But if you give up CJ for Isaac, that comes with the risk of Isaac’s injuries.

I don’t think theres a trade scenario where we could conceivably get Isaac really. If Wendell Carter Jr ever became a potential buy-low target though, I’d love to have him on the squad.

EDIT: Forgot to add 2023 swap and 2025 swap for Detroit.
That would be the most unbelievably amazing offseason swing-for-the-fences move I could imagine. I mean, I'd hate to lose RoCo (can we S&T Kanter to the Pels instead??), but still, if that could happen, you absolutely go for it.

I don't agree, completely, because I don't think Dame is that shallow

I'd say a big part of his evaluation will be how the team performs in the regular season, and then the playoffs

I add RoCo because he's actually a good fit at PF/C next to Zion. He spaces the floor and defends the rim. This is all under the assumption that NO is trying to compete now.

They also have RJ Hampton that looks to have potential. I don't think they would care about Anfernee.

Problem with Isaac is he's coming off an ACL injury. Plus he was inconsistent in their lineup when they had Vucevic. He hasn't proven jack.

Sure is. He'd also be a great fit with Grant and Siakam. I want it all!!

NO is also moving a ton of value. I dunno, depends how they see CJ, but that package for CJ alone is an overpay imo.

Well they still gave him the contract even after the ACL injury so they believe he proved enough to deserve this. He also has amazing defensive potential. Some late 1sts won't make any dif for the Magic, difficult to hit the jackpot with the 20th pick.

People will hate this, but I love it. I'm trying to move KCP + some more firsts somewhere else.

Or maybe they just made a bad decision.
