I know Brand's contract is a monstrosity, but he can still get it done in the low post. He can back up the 4/5 or be a legit starter at the 4 with LMA sliding to the 5 in the event Oden gets injured. I don't like getting rid of Bayless but I'm a huge fan of Lowry's game and I think he could take over after Miller is done.

Houston gets some value for TMac's expiring in Iguadala, a legit back up for Yao and Webster.

Philly gets rid of Brand & Iggys huge deals, 2 young talents & TMacEC

Didn't think it would go over with most of you here. I think Lowry is one of the more underrated players in the league and would start on most teams. If he had the chance to start somewhere he would prove me correct. And Brand is lookin a lot better lately with minutes. Given the chance to start the rest of season he would revitalize his career and make KP look like a genius. His PER is better than Aldridge and he is everything LMA isn't as a power forward. We're gonna have to consolidate eventually.

We're giving out Pryz, Rudy, and Bayless for Brand and Lowery. I like Lowery too, but Bayless has the potential to be better. Rudy is a stud, and while he may need to be traded at some point, I think I'd rather have him than Lowery too. And at Brand's price, frankly I'd rather have Joel around for his salary, especially if the hard cap is put in place. Taking on Brand would put us in cap hell before we even have to decide on Greg Oden and maybe Nicolas Batum too (who just may end up being worth a pretty decent sized contract).

He's one of the most unmovable players in the League.

Lowry is a solid player right now but JB has a higher ceiling and starting to produce when given the time.

Holy shit, that's terrible. Why are we basically paying for Houston to get Iguodala? While we get the worse, older, worse contract in Brand? There is no chance in hell that Philly could get young talent like Rudy and Bayless if they were to dump Brand AND Iguodala on a team. None.

No thanks. If Portland is giving up all that, Iguodala had better be going to Portland, not Houston. If Philadelphia wants to unload a large contract in addition, Dalembert is fine by me. That's the one they're rumoured to want to move and he'd fit Portland well.

Why are we consilidating at ALL? Other than giving up more players for fewer.

Brand probably wouldn't start ahead of Aldridge... and Lowery isn't any better than Rudy or Bayless.

I just don't see any reason this deal would be good for Portland.

Thanks man. I was expecting to get hated on for it. Since the future is unknown...

Hypothetically, let's say Joel never gets back to full health. He's done. Webster never puts it together. Rudy doesn't quite become the next Manu (and still, here he will ALWAYS be Roy's back-up), and Bayless still becomes what we think he can.

Then imagine that Brand gets back to form and puts up around 18/10 for 3 more years (it's not impossible). Lowry is already a better defender, rebounder and shooter than Bayless, and gets to the line almost as well. U guys watched the playoffs last year right? And he's only 23.

We're essentially trading Roy's back-up and Bayless for the banger power forward that everyone keeps crying for and our PG of the future, while clearing the way for Batum and Outlaw (ya I'm an Outlaw fan).

Or Brand could continue to be the worst contract in the league and Lowry could have a career ending injury while Bayless and Rudy go on to be perennial all-stars and Webster the DPOY...

I just don't think it's as bad as everyone makes it out to be.
