I think that's the guy. I agree, he isn't my #1 target, but he looks the most realistic.

I think so too. Especially with Vince going to orlando. That takes the magic out of the picture for sure.

The Pistons are the only contending team to be a threat outside of the Magic, and they have Prince so I can't imagine they'll take their focus off Gordon, Boozer, etc.

The deal itself is awesome for Portland, just don't understand the money part of it?

Probably 22 ad 33 to move up to get Lawson, and taking Claver at 31. Just a guess though

We probably couldn't find anyone willing to take Sergio's salary off our cap, so we had to include 1.5 million so another is taking him for free.

Shows how highly teams are of Sergio.

I don't think so: Vince doesn't do what Turkoglu does, PLUS Vince is a SG (replacing Courtney Lee, not Hedo). I think the Magic still re-sign HT. At least I bloody hope so.

It would put them in the luxury tax for 3 years, where before, they were only going to have to pay it next season by resigning Hedo

Somebody PM MARIS or call him if you know him ... I'm worried about him harming himself, of maybe flying down to the PF to harm KP ... or maybe moving to Sacramento. :dunno:

I look at it as opening up roster space for someone who can be more valuable to the team.

Anyone here surprised? Didn't most of you expect to see Sergio given away in trade? The Blazers just wanted to be rid of his contact so they could put that money towards a free agent. When you have a no defense PG that shoots under 40% from the field, and he demands a trade...why not? Especially with us having Bayless waiting in the wings. Now this will force Nate to play him.

Not really surprised at all, I kind of expected him to be a throw-in as part of a multi-player trade, but I'll take the 1.6 million in cap space his salary frees up any day of the week.

Surprised. Yes, I am surprised. Going up 7 positions in the 2nd round for Sergio sounds like a pritch-slap to me... :devilwink:

J/K - I am not surprised he was moved - and I am not surprised that this is what his value is around the league - he is a one dimensional PG which makes him a border-line backup PG in this league.

Has Maris been around? He probably is crying his eyes out

My guess is that he'll claim it's a smokescreen right up until the moment Sacramento plays against Portland and Bayless slides by him for an and-one ... at which point his head will explode.

We got something for a guy who will be out of the league in a couple of years? Im happy.

Virtually Sergio and a middle second round pick for Pendergraph. Traded a player that didn't fit any longer for a player I think will. Good move.
