Yankees getting Triple A 1st Baseman Garrett Cooper in exchange for LHP Tyler Webb as per Ken Rosenthal.

Right now Dan O Dowd and my favorite Martian Eric Byrnes are handing out "grades" picking thus far Rookie of the Year, MVP, and Cy Young award winners to this point in the season. I left after watching them go through the NL & AL West, plus the AL East. Then they get input from the likes of Sherman, Rosenthal, and Heyman, enough to drive one nuts. Will say though the couple times I saw Webb he looked decent. The First Base situation has shown us that Cashman can not or will not poop or get off of the pot.Keeeping Carter was a joke, if Austin or Bird can't play the the DL or minors. The Braves made a move got Matt Adams when Freeman went down. At this point do we hope Choi works out, or is our boy Brian looking?

For what its worth Bird is doing some rehab starts in either double or triple A this week. I think the kid can still make it back and obvious from the first base band aids cashman is applying so does he.

Let's hope he makes it back sooner then later.

first thought on Garrett, I'd rather see Gary Cooper playing 3rd.

damn, I've got a lot of posts catching up to do....

The Yankees are reportedly in on David Robertson and Todd Frazier as per River Ave. Blues.

Yankees are checking in with Athletics about Sonny Gray.

...since they probably won't go after a bonafide Ace, Sonny Gray was my second choice after Quintana.

Yankees and A's in talks on Yonder Alonso as per MLB.Com

Yankees in the mix for Neshek as per Ken Rosenthal.

Might be dreaming the impossible dream but a huge priority should be placed on getting Ellsbury and Headley out of town with those kids taken their places. Given their shabby play play from mid June in conjunction with poor pitching and a rash of sloppy infield play, I'd think the playoffs are improbable. Most think they were early in development this year maybe planning for next is more realistic. I get the idea that most Yankee fans are getting tired of seeing this 200 mil team getting its ass kicked by those with far less payroll.

Yankees close to getting Todd Frazier, David Robertson and Tommy Kahn from the White Sox as per Ken Rosenthal.

Can't wait to see who they give up for this disaster.

Looks like they are giving up SP Ian Clarkin, OF Blake Rutherford + ?????????

I do not like this deal Frazier 32 yrs, Robertson 32 yrs, Kanele 28 yrs.

Cashman is crazed. No starting pitcher? That's a need.
White Sox building their own farm. Thank you so much Trashman!!!!!!!!
I knew Trashman would trade away the kids. He cannot help himself. SOB

Geezus back to the 32 age avg Yankee player??? Anyone but Headcase, wonder how much Trashman's going to eat on this one, and with no SP, wtf, (again)...?

You trade away your # 3 prospect, and you do not get a starter back. You are on something, mister
and it is not an aphrodisiac!

I am beyond pissed with these shenanigans......... this is a bullshit trade. Stupid is stupid.

In his post game interview, Girardi does not look his affable self. Girardi actually dismissed the kids
they traded........"I haven't seen them." Again, the Yankees aged considerably!

I thought Robertson was going down hill when he left. Frazier I always liked maybe getting him will signal that Headley is going somewhere. he'd be a rental. Don't know much about the reliever but at least the Yankees got rid of Clippard.

...I'll reserve judgment for now...maybe a change of scenery with help revive Frazier...and Robertson is still averaging almost 13 strikeouts per 9 innings.

in light of how Betances seems to of lost his mojo; I welcome back D-Rob, just hope he doesn't disappoint or keep us on the edge, again, time to hit up closet for a D-Rob Superman changeout...?? Betances 1st year as a Millionaire, and all the sudden he can't find the strike zone...

btw-Fk you Aroldis....~!~ I still wan't Miller back...

...^^^Matts, the other thing to consider about the trade is that Boston wanted Frazier and Robertson too and were in on trade negotiations with the White Sox but the Yanx made the better offer.

...IMO, the trade would have probably helped the Red Sox greatly, so when you consider the Yanx got 2 players that Boston really wanted, the Yanx are clear winners from that aspect.

Well let's see if Headley is quaking in his shoes with the "Toddfather" as a Yankee. For once Cashman weather he intended to or not beat out Dombrowski in that deal. Did not know much about Kahnle and am in the process of getting educated. I follow the Eastern Teams more so than the others.

^^^yeah, Kahnle has been pretty much overlooked in this deal for some reason...if you consider we got rid of Clipboard and added Robertson and Kahnle and Frazier this could be quite a good roster adjustment...not sure what's gonna happen with Headley, and I hope Cashman finds a way to dump him but if not I see a platoon at 1B with Headley playing vs RHed pitching and Frazier playing vs LHed pitching, as well as Frazier playing some 1B.

Per the River Avenue Blues analysis of this trade it looks like the Yankees made out good overall. Saw the recent updates on Kahnle & Robertson placing them as pickups of value. If they go out and succeed when Girardi sends them out there then the pen will be in better shape. With all of those options it also means if one does not produce they'll be moved along. We haven't seen that situation in many a year. Hopefully this trade will inject life into a Yankee Team mainly Bullpen that has failed since mid june.
