Would have preferred a starter coming back with this trade. Interested with what Kahnle offers in the middle to late innings. Now if Trashman can unload Headley and Ellsbury.........I'll breathe better!!!!

...IMO, the trade would have probably helped the Red Sox greatly, so when you consider the Yanx got 2 players that Boston really wanted, the Yanx are clear winners from that aspect.

^^^^ any bone stolen from Boston that would of been used to beat the Yanx, is a Yanx victory indeed. I was unaware of this, as well as unaware of Kahnle too, holy shit, 15k/9IP avg, my my, that's Betance's BB/9IP, well close, exagerrated a bit...
 
...the more I look at the trade, the more I like it. Rutherford is a prospect, period...and I'll take proven players over prospects any day.

...consider that a week ago we were cringing every time Carter came to bat or when Cippard took the mound. We've improved offensively and defensively at 1B and greatly bolstered the bull pen.

Thats gonna be done on monday. Price will depend on who blinks first out of cash and beane. As long as no torres or frazier I'm good with it. Will probably be something like mateo, acevedo and 2 mid type prospects. If more than that hope we move away and just promote adams

I'm watching Fox Spts talking on this right now. Said: "Yanx and A's in intense talks over Gray", his next outing postponed(?) 'til Sun?

Wonder who Trashman's going to depart with, ie prospects??? Hope he don't fk this one up, it would of been nice to of had Quintana also, ... who looked damn fine yesterday- :dammit:

...actually, I think his next start has been bumped till Monday...trade deadline is 4 PM.
 
Yankees no longer pursuing Darvish.........Seriously looking at Sonny Gray.
 
^^^yeah, all things considered, I'd rather have Gray.

...Darvish is a 3 month rental, Gray is under team control till 2020.
 
Nine hours until the deadline, a few trades to make clubs improve, but nothing earth shattering to this moment. I guess my dreams of Headley & Ellsbury getting moved will vaporize once again!!!!!!!!!!!!
 
Hold firm cash if beane still wants 3 or 4 top prospects and won't accept one and a couple from the next tier down. We are not favorites with grey and I'd rather continue to build like were doing. Keep the kids and let them and the team continue to grow. Don't blink cash. If beans doesn't come down on his demands tell him to choke on grey.

...I agree that we should not go further than the prospects that the Yanx have been rumored to have offered the A's...but moving forward we simply have to greatly reinforce our starting rotation because other than Severino the Yanx don't really have anything solid for the next few years.

...Gray will be a Yankee and we not only have him just for this year but in 2018 and 2019 as well...the only concern I have is his ability to stay healthy.

Yep Dray to Yankees per Joel Sherman on MLB. As get Mateo, Fowler, one other minor leaguer.
 
Looks like Yankees give up Fowler, Mateo and Kaprelian.
