Trades that "move the needle"

The chemistry with the starters is as good as I've ever seen with the Blazers.

The bench is where Neil should look to push this team over the top.

PG: Blake
SG: McCollum
SF
PF: Freeland
C: Kaman

Basically find that SF who can come in and be instant offense:

Ideal: Gerald Green
Realistic: ........?

Yup. Green would be awesome. I bet we could get Lance but god he'd be a huge risk at 9 million a year.

No thank you to Lance. I don't know what caused that train wreck of chemistry last year in Indiana, but I don't want to take that risk.

yeah Green would seem a great fit and the kind of addition IMO that would really make us elite and a serious threat this year

Lance is an awful suggestion. He'd want to start and take 15 shots a game. We can't offer him that here. And he's not exactly the type to just sit there and take a benching well.

Crabbe<McCollum

Not against it, but that creates a squeeze when CJ comes back. Mayo would and should get the PT ahead of CJ, but we've either got to develop CJ or trade him. I think I'm still of the opinion that we should develop him a bit more before we trade him so we can get more in return.
But Mayo would be great coming off the bench with Blake and Kaman.

Crabbe<McCollum

Dude. Do it the right way, or not at all. What you want to say is McCollum>Crabbe. You did it all confusing like... which is not surprising, by the way.

Oh, and you're wrong. There's that too, but that's sort of been a given.

I wouldn't be against it either. But then we'd be short 2 players on our roster. I guess we could search the D league for fill ins

I didn't suggest it. I said he is probably available but he would be a huge risk.

ESPN Trade Machine approved:

To Portland from New York

C. Anthony (SF)
I. Shumpert (SG)
Draft picks

To New York from Portland

N. Batum
W. Matthews
T. Robinson

We become contenders in the West for the next two years. Then we move Carmelo after his contract expires and free up over 20million a year. We also can move Aldridge and have a boatload to rebuild around Lillard.
You could almost suggest the exact same trade all over again without Shumpert & Robinson.

You all like to pick on BGD, but I respect the fact that he never really retaliates, even when it gets close to personal attacks/baiting.

He also Doesn't shove it in people's faces when he was right...like in this case.

That's generally what a troll will do, though. Make stupid and outlandish comments, or repeat the same thing ad nauseum, but never actually try to carry on a discussion about it. I'd respect stupid opinions or ideas if someone truly believed them, and would give reasons why.

Well...there was that one time when he called him an a--hole.

But I know what you mean.

You do see the times he's passive aggressive, right? right?

I don't really think he's a troll, but if he is he's a very mild one. He has a lot of outlandish opinions and makes a bunch of unrealistic trades, but so what? There are people here (ie. KingSpeed) that have just as crazy of a posting record and like getting in people's faces, but aren't bullied nearly as much as BGD.

I don't agree with most of his opinions, but I really don't think he's a complete troll. I don't think this forum has had a true full on troll since the MIXUM/ODENISGOD days. And in the case, McCollum > Crabbe doesn't seem like too much of a stretch now does it?

Oh I gave up on kingspeed a long time ago, and now realizing I should do the same here. I think it's ok to have outlandish opinions. We all see people like mags and Fez, etc. get behind a guy or idea and run with it. But they'll engage in banter on it. On a message board, they are ok with a back and forth on their ideas and opinions. BGD just posts a comment and hardly ever will actuall reply to a question on why he likes that idea, why he doesn't, whatever. He would continually mock the notion of Wesley being a top 10 SG by just making sarcastic, passive aggressive, sarcastic comments at his mention, but never actually engage in a discussion on why. That's why I view it as trolling.

he did the same at O-live

Pau Gasol or no Pau Gasol it's not going to be enough. Neil is striking out. We need a needle moving trade if we will be legit contenders.
