Portland trades CJ in the next calendar year

I'm actually quite surprised that in this "CJ vs Dame who's better" no one has mentioned dame being in a "slump" after he had a season or two under his belt and teams were able to scout him and play to his weaknesses. That hasn't happened for CJ yet. Maybe we should wait on that comparison till then...?

I was thinking the same thing. CJ may not play as well in a year or two when players and coaches really know his game.

You did not say simmer down, you chose your words very carefully. I could go through your entire post history and find any number of times you contradict this post, but I'll spare you the embarrassment. Like I said, coming from anyone else I wouldn't even feel the need to point it out, but you are definitely one of the testier mods, so took the liberty of saying something.
 
I really don't understand why anybody would look at that CJ/Roy comparison post and infer that somehow it's a knock on CJ. Obviously the intent of the post was to say "Look--Roy was the Blazers best SG since Clyde, and CJ this season is playing at a level just a notch below. Hooray CJ!!"

Why make a negative out of a positive?

Actually, HCP said that very thing to me, and at first I was offended... then I realized how silly I was being and moved on.

Edit: I will add that I was offended at first though because I don't know who he is and he doesnt know who I am and we had never even had a debate or discussion. You two may have history causing words to have deeper meaning. Just sayin....I think we probably have all been overly sensitive at times and overly testy at times. The key is recognition. ;)

Yes, because Frances is a female name, whereas Francis is a male name, and we all know that referring to a male with a female name is insulting.

Those two aren't the same, are they? And if you want to be technical you can, but I've never seen any of the other mods on here get as close to the line as you, and on so many occasions. As a mod I would expect you to hold yourself to a higher standard.

I guess I just consider things like "idiot" or "asshole" or "moron" or whatever to be a personal insult. Never thought "sugar britches" would get someone so upset.

I just thought about something today:
Out of the top 10 shooting guards in the league, who can play point guard as well as CJ? Maybe Wade, but it will probably be a bad idea.

It's pretty unique and he should get credit for it. I use to cringe whenever he got the ball and now he handles the ball really well.

I definitely remember thinking that he was NOT a point guard when they tried him out at that position, but he has improved markedly since his first couple seasons.

He's still definitely a Shooting Guard, he was born to be a scorer, but he can fill that PG role when needed.

Where do you see CJ on this list (not considering salary)? The title of this thread is 'Trading CJ'. I don't think it's a matter of Yes or No. Everyone has a value. I'm in the camp that believes CJ and Dame can be successful together and the Blazers shouldn't be actively looking to trade him. But if another GM came to the Blazers, who on this list would you be tempted with?

It's amazing that we're even looking at these names and comparing CJ to them. Many of these names are established all-stars, and here we are wondering were he fits in among this group. CJ's rise has been meteoric this year!
 
BUMP.......The Blazers have already committed to Damian Lillard. Is Crabbe good enough to start and play on a competitive team next to Damian? I think Henderson could be a good 6th man. Should this be looked at again? The Blazers need to make a splash this off season.
 
I have lost a lot of faith in Crabbe over the past month or two. He has been a complete no-show in this series.

With that said, I would still look at trading CJ for the right price.
