TRAIL BLAZERS FORWARD ZACH COLLINS TO UNDERGO SURGERY ON INJURED LEFT SHOULDER



PORTLAND, Ore. (November 2, 2019)Portland Trail Blazers forward Zach Collins will undergo surgery to repair his injured left shoulder, it was announced today by president of basketball operations Neil Olshey.


A date for the procedure is to be determined.


A prognosis on Collins’ return will be made following the procedure.


In the first three games of the season, Collins, 21, averaged 9.0 points (47.4% FG, 42.9% 3-PT, 100% FT), 4.0 rebounds and 2.0 assists. For his career, Collins (7-0, 250) holds averages of 5.7 points (44.2% FG, 32.4% 3-PT, 73.0% FT), 3.8 rebounds and 0.9 assists in 146 games (four starts).

Whelp.....he's young, hope he heals quickly. Didn't Meyers have the same thing happen a couple seasons ago?

Pretty much derailed his career for the most part. Took all of one season and part of the next to start playing well again. At least Zack's injury was early in the season.

The difference is, was Leonards struggles due to the surgery or due to his mental state as he has always been fragile mentally. Collins is a tough kid so I don't anticipate that being an issue with him.

Can’t disagree but there is no question Meyers was playing well when he got injured.
 
Word on the street is that the Blazers are very comfortable with with Tolliver starting and getting the bulk of the minutes.
