By Cody Sharrett
The Portland Trail Blazers (16-22) look to earn back-to-back wins for the first time since early December Sunday evening as they welcome the Detroit Pistons (17-21) to Moda Center. The contest was originally slated for Saturday night, before a winter storm hit the Northwest, forcing postponement. It is meeting is the first of two between the two interconference foes in 2016-17.
Two-time All-Star point guard Damian Lillard returned to lineup to help the Blazers to a 118-109 victory over the Los Angeles Lakers Thursday night after missing five games with a sprained left ankle. Lillard’s double-double of 20 points and 10 assists to go with CJ McCollum’s 27 points to help Portland overcome a double-digit deficit on their way to the win over LA.
The Pistons visit Portland having won two of their last three games, most recently beating the Charlotte Hornets 115-114 at home on Thursday. Tobias Harris’ 16.6 points lead a cast of six players averaging double figures through the first 38 games of the season.
Sunday’s contest is available locally on CSNNW as Kevin Calabro, Lamar Hurd and Brooke Olzendam provide live coverage from tipoff at 6pm. Brian Wheeler has the call Rip City Radio 620 and the Trail Blazers mobile app.
