Why did he sell it? Was it cheaper to charter flights instead?

Good question, not sure why. We used to have 2 different 757's. I do believe it is cheaper to use the Delta Charter service then his own plane. It's very nice, not as kick ass as Paul's personal plane, but still nice.
Delta configures eight Airbus SAS A319s for NBA teams, whose players are an average of 6 feet, 7 inches tall. The jets' 54 leather business-class seats have as much as 60 inches between the back of one seat and the front of another. Players can swivel to face each other and play cards on a table.
An A319 usually carries 124 passengers, with as little as 30 inches between seats.
That is correct, but the HCP is only 5'10".
