The beginning of a showdown/smackdown between Bobby Simmons and RJ? Simmons says he's more of a "complete player" than RJ. I don't think RJ has responded yet, but we all know what happened between him and Gerald Wallace.

But Simmons believes fans are going to like what they see. After all, Simmons believes he's a "more complete" player than Jefferson.

No he wasn't trashing Jefferson today. Didn't say better. Just "more complete."

"I've never seen Richard play power forward," Simmons said. "And if coach needs me out there to play the four, I'm capable of playing that position."

Actually, Jefferson was frequently used at the four in the Nets New Jersey Nets small alignments. But his prime position - like Simmons' - was and is the three. And Simmons, who is trying to come back from an admittedly disappointing year in Milwaukee, said it will be the fans who make comparisons anyway.

"They're probably going to compare but for myself, I'm more of a complete player," Simmons said,. stressing that multi-position ability. "Me and Richard are two totally different players. The way bobby Simmons plays basketball, it's more complete as far as a guy who can do a lot of things out on the floor."

Harris is out with back spasms. Team claims it's not anything serious.

Saw a few minutes of the scrimmage today, but it was hard to gauge much because players were out of position, such as Chris Douglas-Roberts and Maurice Ager playing point guard because Harris couldn't go.

Harris suffered back stiffness/spasms after going to the basket earlier in practice. Frank didn’t sound too concerned, though.

Ryan Anderson is standing out in practices by being the most consistent guy in practice.

There's a lot of consistent testimony that Ryan Anderson is the most consistent guy here, day in and night out. Part of it is he never stopped playing this summer, and he's not dealing with the typical aches and pains that others encounter, so he keeps the motor revved from start to finish. Very encouraging. Now they only have to hope he can do it when the lights go on.

Nice to see Anderson doing well thus far....another 2 year Cal star to help the Nets.

Back spams are no joke. They better not mess around with Harris' situation, no matter how unconcerned Frank seemed. Injuries like that can linger for months.

And Bobby Simmons referring to himself in the third person? JCB likes it.

Sucks to hear about Harris, glad Hayes is back in action, excellent to hear about Anderson.
Do you guys think that maybe with Harris out, they're testing between the 3 recent signees on who can run point?
