We already know Travis Outlaw has plenty of suitors, but one Eastern Conference team – one in the top ten in this year’s draft actually – is heavily interested in Outlaw according to one source. The team is said to love that Travis can get out and go on offense. But will he go on draft night?

True enough, I guess I just see little value in posting some speculation as opposed to posting when somebody has a legitimate information on a trade coming up. I can go out and spout off 3 teams that might want to trade for Travis too. Does it mean anything? Not really. But if a writer says he has legit information that two teams are talking, that is useful.

Yea that would be my bet too. Colangelo has had a hard time trying to find the right pieces to fit with Bosh there, and none of the trades last year really worked out. IMO what he needs to realize is he needs to get a legit center so that Bosh can play PF. The closest he came has been Jermaine Oneal, who is not a legit center. I could see Gortat fitting well there.

Yea and if the Blazers pick up a player that plays well, you know they will never look back and think about it again. Thats the way it always is. If the trade pans out well, everybody is happy. If it doesn't, it brings down a shitstorm on the team.

Yeah, no doubt.. and not saying that I wouldn't want to get rid of Travis but I just can't help but remember KP saying that if he brings in four more rookies or whatever, Nate would kill him. He said it sarcastically though with a smile on his face, but I'm sure there was some truth to that.

I can see KP bringing in a touted rookie and also adding an upgrade via a vet through trade or something.

Milwaukee makes more sense now they've a better chance of signing Sessions (so won't be targeting a PG) plus they now have a Jefferson-sized gap at SF. But we'd have to take back at least Travis's salary, otherwise that would undercut their re-signing mission.

Kurt Thomas is damn close - just 200K difference.

But who'd be the player Portland would want at 10? Supposedly Flynn is targeted by Sacto at 4. Hey: maybe Sacto takes somebody and swaps with us at ten?

Otherwise, Brandon Jennings might drop. I wouldn't mind Terrence Williams either...

I kinda don't want to get rid of Travis now. He is pretty clutch. So he fucked up in the playoffs. It was his first time playing any kind of role in the playoffs. But he is a freaking bone head. Tough call.

Holy crap, if we could get both Kurt Thomas AND the 10th pick for Travis, I'd be all over that. I know Thomas is ancient, but he would be a great back-up power forward for us. He was very productive in San Antonio last season and in Seattle the year before. He's still an excellent rebounder, and a solid locker room guy. At this point in his career, he'd probably be fine with 12 - 15 minutes per game. Plus adding the 10th pick would make this a 1 for 2 swap, and potentially free up other assets for other moves.

Not sure if this makes sense for Milwaukee. Supposedly one of the reasons they traded Jefferson was to get Joe Alexander more PT. Bringing Travis seems to go against that stated goal. Or, maybe that was just lip service and they are ready to give up on Alexander, like they gave up on Yi the year before.

It depends on how the Shawn Marion scenario plays out. Right now Colangelo seems pretty confident that he can work out a reasonable contract with him, and then use the MLE to shore up the rest of the lineup. If he does, I don't think he has any interest in Outlaw.

Yep we would havea banger backup PF/C with a ton of playoff experience and no question about his ability to defend bigger players in the paint. Several years ago when he was with the Suns I thought he was the key to making them able to compete with San Antonio. He was very important in their playoff run, defending Duncan. When he left, they really haven't beat the Spurs many times since, and have gone down hill.

I was going to say that Thomas is now the oldest player in the NBA, but I checked, and actually he's only a day older than Grant Hill and is younger than Shaq. So maybe there's life in the old dog.
