MESA, Ariz. -- The Chicago Cubs traded minor league outfielder Trevor Gretzky to the Los Angeles Angels for infielder Matt Scioscia, the son of Angels manager Mike Scioscia.

The Cubs have yet to announce the trade but the Kane County Cougars, Gretzky's former team, tweeted out that he had been dealt.

Gretzky is the son of Hall of Fame hockey player Wayne Gretzky. He was drafted by the Cubs in the seventh round in 2011, while the younger Scioscia was taken by the Angels in the 45th round the same year.

Gretzky, 21, played for Boise and Kane County in Class A last year, hitting a combined .274 with a home run and 8 RBIs. Scioscia, 25, never has played higher than high Class A ball, hitting .194 last season between three teams.

I can't help but wonder if Gretzky is using a bat or hockey stick to hit the ball? Perhaps a bat could raise his Batting Avg. I can't help get that Barb in, for the Son of the Great One...

I look forward hoping to see either have a successful career. Tho' it sounds like it could be a struggle for those 2, hope not.

Can you imagine that conversation....hey skip, we just dealt your boy to the cubs for Gretzky's kid.

I'd say this is a case where the DNA wins out.
