Tristan Thompson?

Turner for Thompson could make sense, but I think we're gonna have to go a couple months into the season first. Neil claims that the Curry/Stauskas acquisitions (and to a lesser extent, Davis' departure) are based upon the plan of surrounding Turner with shooters in the second unit. If that's true (questionable, to be sure), Olshey will want to see if that plan is in fact effective. If it is, then a trade may not be necessary, or Turner's trade value could increase. If not, then Turner will be worth as little as he ever was, and we'll have a benchmark performance level against which to measure the inevitable WBIV era.

Exactly. That is the question. If someone dangled anything of value in front of Olshey would he take it? Or, does he really believe in ET and wants to try him first.

Olshey could spin it as Thompson being the vet with championship experience he was looking for.

Look at it this way:
This trade would make Baldwin our backup ball handler instead of Turner AND put Thompson as our backup C instead of Leonard. Those are two huge wins in my book. Without a trade like this Baldwin might not play and Leonard is the backup center.
Possibly swayed.

Still think Love + Clarkson are the guys we need to be after if we're targeting CLE.

Aminu + Leonard + Collins for Love
TPE For Clarkson

I'm not entirely opposed to the idea even given the potential for Kardashian Baby Mama Drama in Moda. But it would reduce us to only Harkless as a playable SF.

I don't do this unless I have another deal lined up for a wing.
Trent?

I'd rather trade for Olynyk than Tristan Kardasian…..Olynyk would be a great fit

I don't see Triscut Kardasian moving the barometer at all. Pass on that one.

Then why do it?
Balance out the roster and take away Turner who makes both the offense and defense worse when in the lineup. Basically addition by subtraction. It also opens up the door for Baldwin to get minutes as the backup facilitator of the offense.

Baldwin will take Bazz's minutes...he'll be on the court whenever Dame or CJ sit....won't affect Turner at all...the good thing is Turner can play defense and be surrounded with shooters for a change

Nope, both Olshey and Stotts have mentioned that Turner is going to take the distributor role in the 2nd unit.

Turner will have his same role....just like with Bazz last season...they don't play the same position. Turner is a vocal floor general like Chief....I think they refer to Turner as a floor general for the second unit and Baldwin can play off the ball very well...distribution by commitee

Nope, sorry Riverman but that's not what they both said and I'll take what they actually said over your interpretation.

Is Baldwin a good enough shooter to be one of the guys that surrounds ET? If the goal is the 2nd team is ET and a bunch of shooters I’m not sure Baldwin fits that role.
I like Baldwin’s game a lot by the way.

I actually see Baldwin playing with either Dame or CJ when one rests...CJ will probably play more with Turner and the second unit. CJ plays with Turner...you want Turner distributing the ball....Baldwin plays with the starters...you'll see him playing pt guard with either Dame of CJ off the ball

I could see that. The thing about 2nd units is that most teams rarely have all their starters on the bench. Also if the goal is to get more playoff success then you need the best 8ish guys you can get because the rotation tightens up a lot.
