5 of 8 episodes in now I think this has a chance to be the best short/mini TV series of all time (any future seasons will have different story, cast, director). Just the planning of all the subtle things going on must have taken months. Plus Mcconaughey likely frontrunner for Emmy now.

It's not meant to be like a Stallone movie. More intricately plotted intellectual. A bunch of character development and plot setup is going to be necessary in a show like this.

holy meh. confrontation was ok if a little derivative, but didn't need the hokey contrived feel good ending. really out of place for the series and pretty much of ruined it for me.
