i think pot should be legal. but i reject the argument that a pot smoker is a victim. if you know smoking pot is illegal, and you choose to partake anyway, then you deserve to go to jail because you don't follow the law. If alcohol was banned again, i'd simply stop drinking until it was legal again. and people who made and sold liquor would be put in jail for breaking the law.

I get all the arguments for it being legal, and i agree with many of them. but it still isn't legal so why do people cry about the punishment? If you don't want to do the time, don't do the crime.

The KKK doesnt believe killing black people should be illegal, but society has told them to go fuck themselves. If they choose to kill despite it being illegal I certainly hope you'd want them tossed in prison, if not hung?

I know, I know, apples and oranges. But it is the same idea. Society has deemed certain things illegal, so dont do it and you don't go to jail? Or do it and accept the consequences when you are caught. Personal responsibility one of those liberal triggering terms.

If guns were made illegal I'm willing to bet you would keep yours.

Be honest.

Sure, because that law would immediately face a constitutional challenge.

Now, if the 2nd amendment were actually repealed, that would be a different story.

trump thinks abortion is murder, but wants to leave that up to the states to decide? But not this? SAD

The guy is business as usual, plain and simple. Bought and paid for by his donors.

Trump overturns protection for transgender students, says leave to states.

Driving 5 mph over the speed limit is illegal. How many here have done so? (raise my hand)
Should every illegal act carry a lifetime punishment? Is this what you really want a president to focus on? Not ISIS, not jobs, not infrastructure, not opportunity, lock up pot smokers and make transgender students face harassment and assault when they need to pee?

BTW, forcibly grabbing women "by the pussy" is assault and that is illegal.

I dont think he realizes how many of those on the Trump Train smoke pot. I do not, but a lot of fellow supporters I know do.

Weed has finally become a bipartisan issue. Whether its for reasons of states rights, personal liberties, medical or just the fact that it is fun and not very harmful. Genie is out of the bottle on this one, Trump is not fight a smart fight with this one, but I don't think he cares. Ive got to wonder how much is just lip service though.

One's a protected (or should be...) Constitutional Civil Right (bearing Arms). The other isn't (Pot Smoking).

Seems pretty simple to me. Except if you live in California...where they pretty much wipe their ass with the Constitution, and get away with it.

I assumed they were high on something, there's no other explanation. I thought it was paint sniffing, though.

So, pot smoking is like KKK killing?

Crapola. I would like some of what you're smoking.

Yeah, he didn't say that. Any other strawman arguments you wanna try?

The point he was trying to make is that you can't just pick and choose what laws you FEEL are okay, and what laws aren't. We ALL follow them. And if you don't like them, CHANGE them.

I would LIKE to have an AR-15 with a short barrel, without registering it with the government and going through pointless paperwork. But if I hacked the barrel off of one, I'd be committing a Federal felony offense. So I don't do it....because it's ILLEGAL.

It's very easy to do. Obey the law.

Oral sex is illegal in many states too....doesn't stop a lot of folks...you want to jail them too?

Pot is illegal in may states, yet people still smoke it.

But don't whine and cry when you get busted for it.

I'm not the one whining and crying about pot....I live where it's legal. I'll whine about putting pot smokers in jail and making dependents out of them instead of contributors...don't want them rounding up people for their recreational choices ....alcohol is way more dangerous to society than pot ever was. Prohibition empowered the mob and made moonshiners into pop culture icons ...prohibition doesn't work in this country period.

I agree with this. But...I'm not going to feel sorry for those who get locked up for breaking the law. Sorry, I'm just not.

I did not ask if you feel sorry for people arrested for smoking pot. If you have a Trump pic as avatar, clearly compassion is not your thing. I did ask if you think locking up thousands of people for smoking pot is a good use of the country's resources. Is it worth a federal/state battle. Do you want to pay for all the prisons? Are you willing to have other things cut so the country can pay for all the prisons?

I'm not afraid to say it, if guns were ever made illegal I would continue to own mine. Might turn in one just to be on the good guy list, lol. From my cold dead hands!

But I've always been smart enough to not brag on the internet about what guns I own.

Mexicans will pay for the prisons. We'll use prison labor to pick our crops. @Denny Crane's avocados just got cheaper!

Another baseless assumption. You Leftists aren't very good at this, are you?

Pretty soon, I'm going to start making assumptions that you condone violent riots. Leftists have demonstrated the past few months that they're capable of that.

I'm supposed to have compassion for people who WILLINGLY break the law and get locked up?

I don't think so.

Don't break the law. It's not hard to do.

If you're willing to risk going to jail over a plant, then you're a fucking moron.

I did ask if you think locking up thousands of people for smoking pot is a good use of the country's resources.

Locking up thousands of criminals for FELONY TRAFFICKING an illegal substance is very much a good use of our resources. What the hell else do we pay taxes to Law Enforcement for? Hand slapping?

Oh...you meant, hippies in basements. Yeah, that's not gonna happen. Unless you're dumb enough to get busted on a traffic stop because you're a low-life who draws attention to yourself in some way, or you have a criminal record.

Are you willing to have other things cut so the country can pay for all the prisons?

Something else that's not gonna happen. What are they gonna cut? Social Security? SNAP benefits?

I don't think so.

Stop using emotion, and start using logic and reason.

Anyone with half a brain can get a Weed Card. I know, because I had a friend who's only crime was that he was guilty of being...shall we say, not so bright. Never arrested for anything, and he was an Eagle Scout, but he wasn't the brightest bulb on the tree.

But even he was smart enough to get a weed card. And he didn't even need weed. All he needed was some counseling and a hug.

1943 Legalized for the war effort Hemp_for_Victory_1942.webm.jpg 220px-Harry_Jacob_Anslinger.jpg The real Asshole Harry Jacob Anslinger. Father of Federal scorn and the savage who implemented Hemp into Class 1 drug laws. I wish the Doobie Brothers pissed on his grave and wrote a song about this Bastard.

Except having a weed card could be used as proof of a preexisting condition and if that part of the ACA is removed that could cause some not to get health insurance.
