Ms. Carroll accused Trump of having raped her. He said this was not true and she is a liar and besides too ugly. She sued for defamation because he said she is a liar. Trump's attorney William Barr moved the case to federal, very questionable legally, claiming that Trump's remarks about Ms. Carroll were within the scope of his duties and therefore he cannot be sued. Also, a judgment against him would be paid by we taxpayers. Now, no one is saying he was convicted of rape. The question is should the supposed attorney general be defending him in this case? If there is a civil judgment should we have to pay it?
