Sara Beltran-Hernandez arrived from El Salvador and petitioned for political asylum. While being held in a Texas detention center, she became seriously ill and was diagnosed with a brain tumor. Ms. Beltran-Hernandez was in the hospital with surgery scheduled when ICE removed her in handcuffs, ankle shackles, and wheelchair as she is too ill to walk. Her family fears she will die.

Does that make you safer? Fill you with national pride?

Most people I know can't afford healthcare for themselves.

They certainly can't afford to pay for brain surgery for the rest of the world.

She didn't arrive, she entered illegally, was caught and ordered to be deported.

Then she claimed she was abuse by her husband.

Then she "suddenly discovered" she had a tumor.

Luckily for her, they have brain surgeons in El Salvador. I'm sure she'd allow you to personally pay for her healthcare there.

The man suspected of taking a 6-year-old Connecticut girl prompting an Amber Alert on Friday had previously been deported, federal immigration officials said.

Oscar Hernandez was taken into custody on Friday following a high-speed car chase and crash on Interstate 99 in Benner Township, Pennsylvania. State police said he had refused to pull over when a state trooper spotted the car, which had been the subject of an Amber Alert.

Federal immigration officials said Hernandez is a citizen of El Salvador and had been previously deported on Nov. 27, 2013. He has prior felony convictions including assault and threatening. U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement had placed a detainer on him, an agency spokesman said in a statement.

Hernandez is accused of taking his 6-year-old daughter Aylin Sofia Hernandez from her home in Bridgeport, Connecticut. Police issued a public alert about the girl at about 2:45 a.m. Friday.

Officers had gone to the girl's Bridgeport home and found her mother, Nadia Gonzalez, fatally stabbed.

Another woman in the home also was stabbed multiple times and was hospitalized. Police said she's expected to survive.

Police said the little girl suffered minor injuries in in the crash. . Two state troopers also suffered minor injuries.

Benner Township is about 300 miles from Bridgeport.

Hernandez was being held as a fugitive from justice in Pennsylvania and couldn't be reached for comment. Bridgeport police have a warrant for his arrest.

I've met @MARIS61 and he and his wife are really great people. We have different ideas on politics. But, he is a great and agreeable guy. We don't have to agree politically to enjoy each other's company and humor.

Ps. I still disagree with your political statements @MARIS61 . But, I'll have a conversation with you anytime.

I've met @MARIS61 too, a very nice guy and a true gentleman.

We all play fictional characters on the internet. I'm sure we're all great people in real life, except Xericx, who doesn't exist in real life.

not really...going to a meet and greet you find out that some people are nice in reality as well as here. to me this place is like any pub...people joke, talk smack, complain, get into fights in the alley..play bad music on the juke box..sober early in the eve ....drunken and evil just before closing. I have no doubt there are serious role players who frequent msg boards but of the dozen or so forum member I've met here...they all were pretty much who they are...nice guys. Some argue with me about political stuff here just the way my oldest son does...he voted for Trump...card carrying NRA member...grew up in California and his form of rebellion was to become a conservative...difference is...he and I can laugh about it....some folks don't have the humor gene I guess

Trump has canceled the Parole in Place program which allowed undocumented spouses of active duty military personnel to remain in the country without fear of deportation while they applied for legal status. This was a program put into place by that notorious communist terrorist George W. Bush.

Denise Leon was approved for the program in November. She had to pass a background check and supply references. She holds a full time job.
The order issued explicitly says all programs but DACA are cancelled. And disallows any prosecutorial discretion.

Thank you for your service. Now, come home to an empty house with your wife gone and having to wait 10 years to apply for re-entry.

Feel safer?

Sorry i guess i missed the no opposing views part of the no personal attacks or opposing views rule.

I need to have this rule explained please.

It's the same reason I had the comment about 'getting sand in your vagina' censored. This OT-forum isn't a place for free speech as one would think. It's all dependent on if a person is offended subjectively. Which, if you want to counter that fight, just start hitting up the mods to censor whatever the fuck 'offends' you. Eventually, we'll have no words on here but "post edited by Slypokerdog" for example.. lulz :D

"Free speech" applies to government action to suppress you (and even that has established rules). This forum has always had rules against sexism, misogyny and overt homophobia (i.e. slurs, not arguing your own dislike for it or support for policies against gay marriage). There are plenty of forums on the internet where you can post literally anything you want (4chan springs to mind as an obvious one)--other forums, including this one, have rules of decorum. Your rights aren't being abridged.

Cool whatever you guys say, it's your place.

If I were you guys, I'd amend this post, and fix the broken link to the rules section.

It probably should be amended, since I don't think the initial writer of that post had political forums in mind at the time. I don't have that power. I'm just going by how I've perceived we've always run things here. If Sly or Denny wants to clarify that racism, sexism or (again, overt) homophobia is allowed here, I'll bear that in mind going forward.

Doesn't rule 6 cover it?
