Washington (CNN)President Donald Trump said Tuesday that he has asked national security adviser John Bolton to resign, noting that he "strongly disagreed with many of his suggestions as did others in the administration."

"I informed John Bolton last night that his services are no longer needed at the White House. I disagreed strongly with many of his suggestions, as did others in the Administration, and therefore I asked John for his resignation, which was given to me this morning," Trump tweeted. "I thank John very much for his service. I will be naming a new National Security Advisor next week," he added.

The tweet came just one hour after the White House press office said Bolton was scheduled to appear at a Tuesday press briefing alongside Secretary of State Mike Pompeo and Treasury Secretary Steve Mnuchin.

Bolton tweeted minutes after Trump's announcement, "I offered to resign last night and President Trump said, 'Let's talk about it tomorrow.'"

Trump was irked by reports that he had faced internal pushback from Bolton over his decision to host leaders of the Taliban at Camp David, multiple people familiar with his frustration say. The President announced the plans for the meeting were canceled on Saturday.

CNN reported last week that tensions between top figures on Trump's national security team had devolved into all-out hostility, creating a deep disconnect between staffers on the National Security Council, led by Bolton, and the rest of the administration, six people familiar with the matter said.

LOL. Beat me to it.

There is a report saying that Pence agreed with Bolton on Afghanistan, pissing Trump off and making he consider a change in the ticket.

A loose cannon to me is a guy who wants to nuke hurricanes...

He's certainly a master of hyperbole. Whether he uttered that or not, though, he's refuted saying it.

So far three National Security Advisors fired......in Trump's first term....all because they disagreed with him. In Bolton's case over his stance on Russia and Afghanistan. Isn't this why you hire these folks? They are called "advisors" for a reason. Bolton is a hawk and Trump acts like a hawk and walks it back.when shit gets real....

When most of the people with past experience for these positions are all members of the Deep State, there's a lot of weeding out to do before you find a Real American we can trust.

Draining the swamp.

Trump has never been a hawk, never implied he was a hawk.

His approach to America's enemies has always been one of prosperity for all through peace and fair/equal business agreements. He is eliminating the MIC's grip on the world, simply by speaking directly with world leaders and offering them ways to improve their standards of living without sacrificing their sovereignty.

offering them ways to improve their standards of living without sacrificing their sovereignty.
troll away.….Trump doesn't have a clue...he hired these folks or is that in your conveniently hidden pile of editorials?....he's emboldened global military escalation across the board..you might realize this if you actually cared to look. Trump likes sovereign nations so much Iran is free now to weaponize their nukes again and Russia is porting it's navy in South America and Honduras......Trump thinks border immigrants are scarier than Russian nukes off the coast......

America has lost a heck of a mustache. I hope we can tap into our national facial hair reserve to replace it.

One has murdered and raped tens of thousands of Americans over the last 50 years and the other has never so much as fired a shot at America, ever.

Not even a close call.

Trump doesn't have a clue.

polls say he needs to be to keep the redneck vote.

It seems s special source of insight has over taken you.
So perhaps you can clarify?
Do the renecks also include the deplorable s'? Or are they just synonyms in the code book? Is Caucasian without proper signals the salient clue?

And how many times has he refuted saying something and then it is shown on a video with him saying it? The guy is a habitual liar.

I rather enjoy reading the varying opinions on negotiating with the Taliban. It seems there is a strong emotional rejection of allowing the Taliban into camp David.
Some how different than Arafat, whom also drew emotional rejection from many for even being allowed into the US. To me it is something to note but perhaps not judge since I have no need for a decision. But I do wonder if there is a logical reason to negotiate with the Taliban, regardless of the emotional optics.

History and the reality of the specific religious affiliations of the Taliban strongly suggest that any agreement with this organization is useless if not worthless.
The same can be said of Nation building in Afghanistan for the same reasons.
We should leave. Trumps instincts here are correct. But we should be prepared to return and kick ass again if and when required. Nothing in history says, one sessions will be sufficient, nor is there a right way to succeed. There is no shame in understanding the reality.

The majority of border crossing immigrants are not murderers or rapists. There is a larger percentage of Americans who are murders and rapists. Why do you generalize that they are all murderers and rapists.

Russia has attacked us through cyberwarfare. Putin controls Trump

It's always been there but thank you.....I grew up in farm country....shouldn't need to define redneck for you of all people Marz…..my father was a redneck and so is my brother and one of my sons....I'm sure you'd call a hippy a hippy ….racism is deplorable wherever it raises it's ugly head

Well, perhaps it is my inability gather what I am expected to intuit from using it as an adverb to vote or is it and adjective to vote?

I do wish we'd get put of Afghanistan. We will never be able to trust radical islamist.
As long as we have soldiers on the ground in the mid east they are going to be targets.
We have enough firepower close by that we could react if needed.

I really don't care what President pulls us out, if its Trump Ill give him props. Didn't vote for the guy and don't care for him but if he can do good, Im all for it.
I know there are those that would rather keep our troops in peril than give Tump credit for pushing them out. Fools!
