Trump hits back at PGA with ominous warning: ‘If I become your president, this stuff is all going to stop’

SACRAMENTO — Presumptive Republican presidential nominee Donald Trump swung back hard at the PGA Tour on Wednesday for moving a golf tournament from his course in Miami to Mexico, and he sounded an ominous warning about how he would respond to such decisions as president.

For Trump, it marked the latest instance of singling out a person, institution or industry he claimed was menacing him unjustly. It also raised new questions about how far he would be willing to go as president to punish his foes. Last week, Trump criticized U.S. District Judge Gonzalo Curiel — who is hearing a fraud case against now-defunct Trump University — with deeply personal and racially tinged language. In a combative news conference Tuesday, Trump said that as president, he would not back down from fierce criticism of journalists he thinks are covering him unfairly.

The PGA Tour announced Wednesday that it was moving a tour date of its elite World Golf Championships from South Florida to Mexico City, beginning in 2017.

"Can you believe it?" Trump asked the crowd at a rally here Wednesday evening. "Think of it: They moved the PGA Tour — moved the World Golf Championship — from Miami, where they're furious, to Mexico City. Not good."

He continued: "But that's okay. Folks, it's all going to be settled, you vote for Donald Trump as president. If I become your president, this stuff is all going to stop."

Trump University lawsuit and now one of his golf courses losing a tournament, Trumps reason for running for president seems to be to take care of his business interests.

Once a few duffers get beheaded, the PGA will come crawling back on it's grass-stained knees.

The only grass they will find, they won't waste on their knees. How do you play golf in Mexico? Why don't they move it to the Sahara Desert?

Yeah no shit right? Fuck Mexico City, that country is just unsafe. Rollin' back from Playa on a shuttle showed me enough of what they expect to go on there.

The PGA is feeding Trump's narrative. They're cutting off their noses to spite their faces. I don't get it.

They're moving an event to Mexico? That giant sucking sound. PGA is boosting jobs in Mexico and killing jobs in Florida.

They could have moved the event to any other course in the USA not owned by Trump. And should have, IMO.

Did you guys even look into why it was moved?

DUBLIN, Ohio — Donald J. Trump sustained a notable defeat Wednesday when the World Golf Championships event held at a course he owns outside Miami was moved to Mexico City. The PGA Tour announced that it was ending a 54-year relationship with Doral, which Trump bought in 2012 and spent $250 million renovating, because it could not find a sponsor to replace Cadillac, whose contract ran out this year.

The tournament is expected to be played at Club de Golf Chapultepec and will be renamed the Mexico Championship after the tour reached a seven-year agreement with Grupo Salinas, a collection of Mexico City-based companies overseen by the billionaire Ricardo Salinas and his son, Benjamin.

Tim Finchem, the PGA Tour commissioner, said the move had nothing to do with the politics of Trump.

If Trump wanted the tournament to remain at his golf course he could have sponsored it himself.

“From a golf standpoint, we have no issues with Donald Trump,” Finchem said at a news conference at Muirfield Village, site of the Memorial Tournament, which starts Thursday. “From a political standpoint, we are neutral.”

Finchem allowed that the Trump brand, built on his real estate dealings and aggrandized by his reality television shows and other entrepreneurial forays, presented a problem for would-be sponsors.

“It’s just a struggle to get a customer to spend those kinds of dollars and share the billing,” Finchem said. “So I think, actually, the difficulty there is more that and less the politics.” He added, “And he knows that.”

In 2015-16, three of the four World Golf Championships events are being held in the United States — at Doral; Austin, Tex.; and Akron, Ohio. The fourth is in China.

AS LONG AS YOU STAY WHERE THE 1% ARE, MEXICO CITY IS FANTASTIC!

And because the Hispanics love Trump. #TacoBowl

They should built the wall wide enough so Nascar can race on top of it. No turns, just straight racing!
