At no time during her trial or since has Maxwell expressed the slightest remorse. On the contrary, she blamed the girls. All the girls said she was worse than Epstein. Had a man approached them, they would be wary but a woman can be trusted. The girls were often in foster care, homeless, had addicted parents. She befriended them, offered to help get them modeling jobs, pretended to mother them. All the time grooming them. They all said she's a monster.

The only good thing that could come of this is justice for the victims, which isn't happening. But cracking the Republicans and Trump supporters burning MAGA hats and approval of 37% and falling I'll take.

Interesting enough on its own, but there is hidden treasure in there, too. From KPTV:

He said repeated requests to review the material were denied. “I don’t know why Trump wants this to go away, but we’re not letting it,” Wyden said. “No one gets to sweep this under the rug.”
I have a guess why the president wants this to go away under the rug but, then again, I am possessed of a suspicious mind. Wyden revealed that the Treasury Department has a report describing over 4,700 money transfers connected to Epstein totaling over $1.1 billion-with-a-b. Four thousand money transfers? I wonder what other names might be in that report.

I went to high school in the latter part of 60s/early 70s and teen pregnancy was a big taboo.
I was 15 and got involved with someone who was 18. Different schools but only a year apart in school.
My first female lover was an adult while I was a minor but I was going to college.
14 year olds didn't fuck 40 year olds. Not willingly.
Yes, there was a time children married at puberty. When life expectancy was 35 that made sense.
 
The right fringe, the ones who consider Fox too establishment, who form the MAGA base, have long had a bug about pedophilia. Not because they care about the victims. They don't. Because they want pitchforks and torches. They have the conspiracy theory that the deep state is protecting a cabal of elites who commit terrible crimes. Elites to them means liberals, people with college degrees, and above all, Jews. When Trump said "I am your retribution" they say him as their knight in shining armor, sometimes literally depicting him as such, who would scour out the elite criminals. That is why they are coming apart now. They can tolerate broken promises, corruption, expensive eggs, losing health care, everything, because Trump was going to give them retribution. Now he is part of the cover up. He could shoot someone on Fifth Avenue and not lose their support but this is the one thing that can shatter his base. And if he makes a deal with Ghislaine Maxwell, that is going to send them screeching.

I think of the girls who "went after 40 year olds", that was not in anyway the norm, or blindly accepted by people.

This is a weird case of victim blaming and moving the goalposts.

The girls in this case did not go after the 40 year olds. They were trafficked.

Young pubescent girls sometimes act in flirtatious manner with grown men. A man, not a turd, knows it's just adolescence. He doesn't screw the girls.

I remember years ago, my dad and I were at a neighbors house (well, in the general neighborhood) to have the stern drive of my dads boat removed.

The guy who did it was an older guy, probably 60's, and we were shooting the breeze with him. Then some of his friends came over (also guys in their 60's) and we continue to shoot the breeze. I was in my 20's, my dad was in his 50's.

Anywho, this was during the summer. And down the street walks (I think?) 3 or 4 girls wearing bikinis that were far too revealing for how young they were (in retrospect, I'm not sure how old they were...I'm guessing between 11-14 at most).

My dad and I didn't say anything because we weren't creepy bastards (I'm still not). The two friends of the guy who was going to remove the stern drive from my dads boat apparently didn't think it was an issue to say suggestive things to these girls as they walked by (they clearly knew the guys).

After a bit, my dad and I leave, and I hear one of the guys (not the guy who was removing the stern from my dads boat) go "man, what I would do to those girls.." and the other guy was like "they're old enough" or something.

It was so fucking gross.
