If he was an informant it was to save his own ass.

Agreed. No way he was a "spy" in the patriotic sense. He was almost certainly the pedo who got caught trying to pay an undercover agent for underage girls and offered up his friend to save his own ass, IMO.Or for personal gain, see my post above yours.

That's where the whole "informant" thing breaks down, IMO...Except in that scenario, Trump would have had to agree to testify against Epstein. There would have been no need for the prosecution to give Epstein such a great deal.
Really? You're assuming people only are informants for good or noble reasons. Many people will rat someone else out for personal gain.
There is a little story in all of this that gets overlooked.
There was an old rundown mansion in Palm Beach that came for sale. Epstein approcahed Trump about buying it. A short time later Epstein is indicted in Palm Beach, ending his involvement in buiying the property.
Trump suddenly buys it.
And then sells it to a Russian Oligarch for twice what he paid site unseen.
Afterward, something happens to the case against Epstein, where the prosecution suddenly shuts it all down. Epstein gets a sweetheard deal and the prosecution agrees never to go after him again.
But sure, Trump would never rat or fuck over someone for personal gain.
Oh, and the prosecuter in this case gets a cabinet position in Trump's first term, and the reporter who found out all of this is being watched by the DOJ.
