OT Trump Mocks Parasite, Prefers Movies with Confederates and Slaves

President Donald Trump took aim at “Parasite’s” historic Oscar wins at a Colorado rally on Thursday.

“How bad were the Academy Awards this year?” he asked, prompting jeers from the crowd. “Did you see it?”

"The winner is… a movie from South Korea! What the hell was that all about?” he went on. “We got enough problems with South Korea with trade. On top of that, they give them best movie of the year? Was it good? I don’t know. Let’s get ‘Gone With the Wind.’ Can we get ‘Gone With the Wind’ back, please?”

Trump bashes a film that 1.) he hasn't even seen, 2.) Has an asian cast 3.) Is foriegn and 4.) Because he doesn't understand film or how to be a human being.

Trump would rather us bring back the plantations. He wants confederacy/slavery romanticizing films. Big surprise.

I've always hated GWTW. Zero likeable characters in that movie. Scarlett O'Hara was just horrible; Rhett Butler was no better. Can't see how people see that as some great love story.

I'm willing to bet that most of the people in that audience (and the majority of us in the country) don't A: give a shit about the Oscars/Tonys/Grammys/Emmys, B: couldn't tell you who won the best of any of those wards and C: have many more important things to deal with in life than some stupid petty shit like this.

The last thing I care about is who won those awards, what country they're " based" in. It's just such dumb fluff.

I was gonna watch it, but I have to be in the right mood to watch something with captions.

It was a tragedy based on the false assumptions of the South.
My aunt and my uncle got invited to the grand opening of that movie in Atlanta, Georgia by Margaret Mitchell whom my aunt babysat for. 1939, I believe. My aunt and uncle were invited to a celebration party after the movie attended by the entire cast.
It showed the painful changes that they had to go through in the deep South because of the way they had taken advantage of an entire class of human beings.
The love theme really never got going because of the incredible changes that everyone was going through that interrupted the process. Look at the character, Scarlett and you can see how she could never get adjusted to those changes.
I look at Rhett Butler as a character who could only exist in someone's imagination.
The South is still grappling with the changes incurred by the War.

Sunset Blvd. was great and William Holden is one of my favorite actors. I've only seen him in one bad movie and that was Earthquake where he was obviously only in it for the money.

It appears some people here don't understand much about fictional writing, symbolism and metaphors, character and plot development, the indescribable inhumanity inflicted on American civilians during and after the civil war, the deliberate and completely unnecessary devastation of the South's industries, farms, hospitals, homes, schools, hymens.. human traits such as determination, courage, compassion, avarice, hate, tunnel vision, victimhood, survival, hope, strength.
