This went off patent decades ago, so it's been generic for a while. Not sure how much money he can really make off it if Sanofi shares climb really, but still, shady as F. And not unexpected.

Supposedly the governement just put in a large order to Sanofi. Rudy G also purchased a large amount of Sanofi stock as well recently.

In the interests of full disclosure, many of my clients do as well as part of their diversified portfolio. Unless it is individual stock, if you have mutual funds which are funds of funds, you own a LOT of different interests, some of which you may not even be aware of.

What would be much more surprising is if the NY Times wrote something positive about this particular president....for anything. Not an "apologist", but after a while, the same negative vein day after day starts to loose a level of objectiveness.

This is as good of a thread as any to publicly state if you will or will not take this drug if you get this virus.

I'll be first. After seeing that CA doctor in an interview about this drug and zinc I'm all in.

Who's with me?

diversification isn't an issue. It's coincidentally having stock in a product that you just randomly bring up as a cure for something that is ravaging the country that is an issue.

IF this is true, and considering how much of a con artist he is, what more would he have to do to get people to admit he wasn't qualified to be president.

Randomly? Lol.

Ask that Dr in California that is giving it to patients with zinc if he did it because of Trump.

well, the trump apologists have now appeared. Slurp slurp. :smiley-195517897341:smiley-195517897341:koolaid:

we all realize it's prolly meaningless, but it shouldn't even be an issue. There is a reason the emoluments clause exists in the constitution.

I thought the emoluments clause was about profiting from other foreign governments and officials? Am I misremembering that, or missing something here?
Totally wrong. It is about stopping a dictator from infecting China with a virus and creating a global pandemic that will allow him to ruin the economy but still double his 400 bucks off of "snake oil"

So the NYT's is writing about between $29-$435 of stock? Wow, an even bigger waste of time than previously thought. What if he owned Boeing stock? They are one of 2 large commercial airplane producers in the world. So he can't comment on them? What if he owns an iPhone? This is sillyness when it is that ridiculously small amount of stock.

There's nothing to to the story that Trump is trying to profit from this. It's a cheap generic with lots of manufacturers, many of which are willing to donate the pills. There is no significant money to be made from that.

Trump is hawking it for the same reason he was previously claiming cases would miraculously go to zero.

kind of like what the NY times did for several years on Hillary's emails....media loves scandal, and that is not a new phenomenon

a story like this will gain plenty of traction whether it's warranted or not

it starts with trump's repeated mentions of the drug that still remains unproven. We know he's getting plenty of push-back and warnings about the drug's viability, as well as side effects, but he keeps bringing it up

but more that that is just the history of trump and money and corruption

* repeated bankruptcies
* the corruption and incompetence of Trump University and Trump Charities, both of which had to be closed
* trump's miraculous ability to secure loans after exaggerating his financial statements
* timely above market value purchases of condos at trump properties by foreign investors, mostly Russians
* hush money payments to porn stars/models
* an unprecedented fast track for trademarks in China for Ivanka
* air force officers staying at a trump property in Scotland when cheaper, closer options were available
* Secret service paying above market rates for lodging at trump properties
* using congressional approved funds as leverage to coerce a foreign nation to aid his re-election
* trying to force Deutsche Bank bank to allow suspension of loan payments on over 300 million debt at the same time his justice department is investigating the bank

so yeah, a story about trump owning stock in a company that makes a drug he keeps praising fits a pattern and will seem credible, whether or not there's much to it. You can blame the media, as trump-world does all the time, but there's way too much stench rising out of the trump swamp to disregard a story like this

by the way, speaking of really fishy timing: it's pretty interesting that trump waited till now to fires the IG that brought the whistleblower complaint to congress. Might it be that he was the IG selected by the 10 IG's to chair the panel that will oversee the spending of the 2 trillion stimulus package. With that IG gone, trump was able to appoint a yes-man to fill the vacancy

I see no problem with the small amount of stock that Trump owns. What is weird is that Fox news host Laura Ingraham made a special trip to the white house to pitch the use of it to Trump.

That's a conversation you should have with your wife.

If you are sick enough that a doctor is prescribing that you will be in the ICU sedated and intubated. You will not be making your own decisions concerning your medical treatment. Right now there is not enough of the drug to treat for minor cases.

I'm not getting sick enough to need intubated. My former neighbor is a nurse at a hospital here and this is what they are taking themselves. I have a hookup if you will.

I heard about this drug before I knew that Trump mentioned it.

Sisolak banned prescriptions for it and yet our prisons bought a shit ton. Hmmm, wonder why.

I'm sure Trump begged India to send us some so he could make money.

I don't know, but I'd guess that whoever buys for prisons in Nevada is not in possession of some secret information that proves the drug works.

It isn't a secret. It isn't proven in clinical trials doesn't mean it is a secret.

I didn't want to even try CBD for my arthritis. As far as I know, our government has banned trials of it for decades.

It works. I thought it would be a placebo effect. The cream I used at first was odorless. After I'd been using it with good results, on a few occasions I had my wife pick between some lotion that was odorless and felt the same....and the CBD.

She applied it without me knowing which one it was. I guessed correctly every time.

It works better than the stuff my doctor prescribed that made my stomach bleed.

Your results may differ. It lets me sleep at night.
