Another potentially disturbing thing about the timing of this pardon is that it may be being employed at this time to signal to any of the people being compelled to testify in Mueller's investigation that Trump will take care and pardon them if they remain quiet and on Trumps side.

It's a possibility. Not sure.

Doesn't need said. Nobody will go to prison.

you could be right. but saying it does tell Manafort and Flynn to keep quiet. Hopefully Mueller will not rely on their testimony but on financial and other physical evidence.
Hopefully there isn't any evidence.

Also, @Denny Crane , "triggered" is a stupid meme and is meant to denigrate people with PTSD. The more you know.

May not be PTSD, but it is some derangement and it is triggered.

This is just the latest constitutional crisis. Wheel out Carl Bernstein to call the president names!

I wouldn't have pardoned the guy, but it is Trump's right. He's flexing his muscle, showing he is the president. That's my take.

That the sheriff racially profiled hispanics is awful, but it isn't necessarily racist. RACIAL, absolutely.

He was doing his job as he saw fit. It's hard to see that as criminal; he was thrown out of office via election, and that could have happened at any time if the people were that pissed off about him.

Bolded part for emphasis.

No, it's not.

Your declaration that it is racist, notwithstanding.

Not allowing a person because of their race to eat at the lunch counter is racist.

Make a person because of their race sit in the back of a bus is racist.

Not investigating a crime against someone because of their race is racist.

Everything is racist, because you say it is.

Like I said, I don't like the guy or agree with what he was doing. He was doing his job, the best way he knew how. He felt it important to enforce the law against illegal immigration (the law is racist, but it is the law).

It's his right to promulgate which crimes to go after.

The people saw what he did and voted to keep him, several times. Then elected someone else. That's democracy.

No, not everything is racist. What a weird thing to say.

This doesn't have anything to do with you liking him or not liking him.

If a white girl reports a rape and an hispanic girl reports a rape and you'll only investigate the rape against the white girl that is racist.

It is his right to decide which crimes to have his force concentrate on.

Like in Oregon when we voted to legalize marijuana, there was a couple of months before the law took effect, the police and DA came out and said we're no longer going to arrest people for being in possession of pot. It was still against the law but they were no longer going to enforce that. Not racist.

Now if the police and DA said we're no longer going to arrest white people for being in possession of pot then that would be racist.

Arpaio didn't decide not to investigate sex crimes against ALL women. He decided not to investigate sex crimes against one ethnicity.
