Your 'whataboutism' is pretty severe. And in this case, inaccurate as well.

It's ok for people to evaluate Trump on his own merits, or lack thereof.

If Obama strangled 100 people, that doesn't mean Trump isn't a murderer if he only strangles 99.

....is inaccurate, petty, and said out of spite. That statement is about YOU, not Trump. YOU said that to make YOURSELF feel better. You don't actually give a shit about the presidency of this country; just about your own "gotcha" bullshit.

Trump says parents of dead Korean War soldiers asked him to ‘bring their sons home’ (Parents of Korean War soldiers are dead)

In his first interview with Donald Trump since he became president, Fox News anchor Bret Baier asked him about his historic summit with North Korea’s Kim Kong Un, and Trump didn’t fail to make a mess of it.

In one segment of the interview, Baier reminds Trump that Kim is a vicious “killer” dictator who “executes people.”

But according to Trump, the nightmarish horrors of North Korea should be taken in stride.

“He’s a tough guy,” Trump said speaking of Kim, who has one of the world’s worst human rights records.

“When you take over a tough country, tough people, and take over from your father – I don’t care who you are, what you are, how much of an advantage you have,” Trump continued. “If you can do that at 27 years old, that’s one in 10,000 who can do that. He’s a very smart guy, a great negotiator. But I think we understand each other.”

But Baier didn’t let it go, again tenderly reminding Trump that Kim has “done some really bad things.”

“Yeah, but so have a lot of other people done some really bad things,” Trump countered. “I could go through a lot of nations where a lot of bad things were done.”

The comment echoed a sentiment Trump shared back in 2017 during an interview with then-Fox News host Bill O’Reilly. When asked about Putin’s alleged assassinations of adversarial journalists, Trump brushed it off by saying, “There are a lot of killers … You think our country is so innocent?”

After vaguely answering Baier’s question about his “agreement” with Kim, Trump threw in this little unforced error:


“…the soldiers that died in Korea, their remains are gonna be coming back home. And we have thousands of people who’ve asked for that. Thousands and thousands of people,” Trump said. “So many people asked when I was on the campaign. I’d say, ‘Wait a minute, I don’t have any relationship’ — and they’d say, ‘When you can, President, we’d love our son to be brought back home.”

The comment caught the attention of a few people, including Josh Marshall of Talking Points Memo who pointed out that if there were such a parent out there, they would probably be around 110-120 years old.

I'm not sure why you would assume there is something I agree with him about? I'm sure there must be some minor thing that he hasn't completely screwed the pooch on, yet.

And for the record, saluting or not saluting is a non-issue in my book, it's just yet another example of how unfit he is for the job. If that was his only mistake, he'd be the greatest president ever.

And yes, he is objectively ignorant and incompetent.

So, Trump, who was never in the military due to several deferments for a physical ailment that never stopped him from golfing, gets to salute but Obama doesn't get to salute his U.S. Marine Corps honor guard, the very same type of guard that Trump gets to salute? Oh the hypocrisy.

My concern is with a president that lies, cheats and has created my discorse in this country than any other modern day presidents. You just keep kissing trumps ass.

By the way, i'm neither republican or democrat. Just someone that's concerned for my kids and grandkids future.

Kissing his ass? That's cute. I'm one of the only Moderate Republicans on this board who has been reasonably objective about him. If you payed attention, you'd know this.

1) I want him to cooperate fully with officials about this Russian bullshit, so that this country can move past this. The more he stalls and deflects, the more guilty he looks. If indeed he is innocent, like he says he is (which I don't believe he is...more on that shortly....), then he needs to cooperate and prove it.

-I believe his administration had something to do with some kind of collusion; to what extent I don't know. But there's too much smoke for me to believe that there is no fire. And there's too much turn-over in his staff for me to believe that he's not guilty of something. Like I said: he needs to cooperate and prove it, if he is indeed innocent. He's not doing that.

2) I never agreed, and still don't agree, with the Wall. I thought it was a stupid idea that would completely waste billions in tax payer money, and wouldn't keep this country safe in the slightest.

3) I don't agree, at all, with his use of social media. I personally believe NO world leader should be anywhere near social media, and that it should be left up to their administration, not them personally. He needs to shut the fuck up and stay off of Twitter.

4) I don't like the fact that he hasn't reestablished ties with the UK, but I think that has more to do with the hostile nature of Parliament than Trump himself.

5) I'm not entirely on board with the Tariffs; I don't think they are going to have a positive effect on our economy. But....time will tell, and it's too soon to conclude if they are, or are not.

And that's just what I can think of off the top of my head after a long day.

You might look at that and think "then why the hell did you vote for him?" Or "why the hell do you support him?"

In as far as supporting him, I support only about 60% of what he's done thus far. And as far as why I voted for him: he's not a career politician, and Hillary was worse.

And judging by what I've heard about Hillary since she lost the election, then I'm comfortable with the choice I've made.

And I at least can articulate my reasons. Whether you agree with them or not.

My uncle who was an ex semipro boxer, once called a woman ugly in a bar back in the 50s. As the old saying goes, there's always someone tougher and he spent the rest of his live missing two or three teeth when the woman's husband overheard his comment.

But, yeah, this is a discussion forum and people have quite a bit of latitude. It's just too bad that common decency is pretty much out the window.

Hey, Jade’s a good guy, just a little excitable sometimes. And after all the years I presume you spent on OLive.......I mean c’mon. This place is Sunday School compared to that. I personally find that being told to “calm my tits” is hilarious. Humor almost always breaks up tension.......especially when we all get so worked up about things we actually have very (very) little, to actually no control over. So I’m a big fan of calm tits.........
