What I want is a 6 week campaign that keeps us from being burned out on bullshit from both candidates...I can switch to many websites that scathe Hillary every 30 minutes...the difference is Trump's bluster is hard to compete with...he's bullied and insulted every media outlet, political rival and social group there is...that's why he gets so much ink...he wants it. Denny, you've devoted an amazing amount of posts to Trump's defense for what's seemingly a medium for weighing your hate against Obama and Hillary.....I'd vote for either over Trump....but I've decided to give the dems and republicans a no vote this time..mainly because I don't support either candidate, but if there were no alternative, Hillary would get my vote and it's not even close. I'm not surprised by closed door deals, coverups or lies in DC...what shocks me is that anyone else is in this day and age.
Obama looks great next to either of the major party candidates. As the campaign goes on, his popularity and job approval ratings go up. He's also not on TV a lot talking, so people more easily forget why he had low ratings prior.
I absolutely have no hate for Obama. I've posted numerous times about things he's done that I think are great. Like gays in the military, gay marriage, and so on. I have major issues with his economic policy and authoritarian view of government. On foreign policy, he's been a disaster. Those things are not hate. I don't think the guy is crooked in the least, unlike the two major party candidates.
My intent is not to defend Trump, it's that I am stunned by the idiocy of some of the tactics used to destroy him. He's facing a withering assault by the media unlike anything I've seen in my lifetime. I thought the Romney "47%" and "binders of women" bits were incredibly overplayed at the detriment of much more important issues (Benghazi, ISIS, Arab Spring) which absolutely calls the media's complicity in electing a particular candidate.
Trump wants to create a military force to physically expel immigrants. That's all you need to know about the guy. Not that he made a joke about the 2nd amendment guys might take offense to SCOTUS unconstitutionally erasing the 2nd amendment. They're making much ado of nothing, it's a smear.
WWW sites do not counter the constant beating of the drum for Hiliar by the major news networks and 2 of the 3 major cable news networks.
I am not surprised about back room deals, etc., either. What I want is for the press to report on them without bias and let us make up our own minds. I don't want them hiding or burying the news on one side.
It's not up to the news anchors to opine. That's why they have guests. And the guests shouldn't be all one POV, either. Debate is healthy, smear is not.
