Of the 109,000 randomly selected teenagers and adults who took the test, some 6% harboured antibodies against SARS-CoV-2. This result was used to calculate an overall IFR for England of 0.9% — or 9 deaths in every 1,000 cases. The IFR was close to zero for people between the ages of 15 and 44, increasing to 3.1% for 65–74-year-olds and to 11.6% for anyone older."

Apparently, it's happened just one time in American history. Horace Greely ran against Grant in 1872. He died after the election so nobody replaced him.

I answered you. No a candidate has never died during the campaign. They are replaced by their party who chooses a new candidate to give trumps delegates to and be the candidate.

Because Trump is president, Pence will take over office, but might not be the candidate

the case fatality rate (CFR) is above 2.83%. That's after 109 million tests

the theoretical mortality rate would be lower, but how much lower we just don't know because the pandemic has overwhelmed health agencies worldwide. It would depend on just how many people are asymptomatic and never get tested.

I saw predictions that the mortality rate would probably fall in 0.7-1.1% range. A few prediction were lower but I remember a couple of those predictions saying we'd see that kind of result around when we hit 50 million tests. We're more than double that in testing right now and the CFR is 2.8%
