What's he waiting on?

uh, probably his safety. You know you voted in a president that thinks whistle blowers are the enemy, are spies and should be hanged. Real classy guy that trump is. Fortunately he has now already spoke to the IG.

neither am I. Did you click on the link? It opens right up for me.
It doesn't just open up for those of us who have used up our monthy allotment of free accesses to the NY Times. After a certain small number of peeks at links to the NY Times you can not see any Times links for the rest of the month. You are forced to subscribe if you want to exceed the number of free link accesses for the month.

Heh. Sure, yeah.

Heh. Sure, yeah.

Here's a few direct questions for you to answer.

1) Do you think it's good for the country to have a president that calls the news media enemy of the people?

2) Do you think it's appropriate for a sitting president to call opposing politicians by derogatory names such as low iq Maxine, Pocohontas, assholes, traitors and should be hanged?

3) Do you think those sort of actions above divide the country or brings it closer together?

4)Should the president be the one to try and bring the country together

5) Do you think the president should be making comments to foreign countries asking to investigate a political rival for him?

This is strictly about trump and no other politician so let's leave any other politician out of it.

If you aren't going to answer the questions honestly and instead try and use some of your little cutsey comments, then don't bother responding as it means you condone all his actions above

1. I think we have seen that much of our media here is too heavily involved in pushing their agendas rather than the news. Are they enemies of our country? That seems harsh, but I also believe that the press which is a vital part of our society has in many ways turned into just a bunch of political propaganda and its hard to know what to believe from many of the networks. So is it good for a president to say their our enemies? Probably not but whether its the left hating on Fox or the right hating on CNN there is definitely something to the line of thought that these major news sources are not out to help the American people, but rather to help themselves.

2.). Nope, completely out of line.

3.). Of course, Trump is not good for uniting the country, this isn't anything new to Trump though, the Chasm between different groups has blossomed under Trump, but it has blossomed as long as I can remember.

4.). Yes, maybe what I find worst about Trump is how much he loves to divide people. I realize that many people want presidents that only do what they like, but the thing is a Presidents job isn't just about you or me, its about everyone and leading the country. Now I will say in terms of Trump, I don't think he tried, but I also believe if he had tried the left had no interest in letting him lead in trying to unify us. Part of the whole Chasm we have right now is there are large portions of people who have 0 desire to be brought together.
5). Lol... No... If one of our intelligence agencies believes some one needs to be investigated and seeks the help of foreign lands I can understand, but the President asking for “dirt” on a political opponent is silly.

c'mon man....there's no more room for reasonable doubt....and from day one of this administration the press was put on the defensive and called liars....something Hitler did during his reign...have a state run news media like China does with censorship.....he's taken away press passes, refused to acknowledge white house correspondents...made a term out of insulting anyone and everyone who questions his questionable behavior....tweets witness tampering threats at people under investigation.....there's no middle ground in Trump's camp...there's no working across the aisle...strattling the fence at this point is purposefully ignoring the realities of our political climate....people have plenty of desire to be in unity but that has to include all people, not just his fan base. I wouldn't shake the man's tiny hand and not for reasons of division but for my own code of ethics. I don't trust the untrustworthy.

I honestly dont believe most people at this point want “unity”. I certainly dont believe most of the posters on this forum do. Seems like politically you either want Trump and all his supporters to go fall off a cliff somewhere, or you want all the left of center people to find a fire to jump into. If you’re at all towards the center then both groups are upset at you, because you arent angry enough. Literally in this forum on a daily basis, “I mean to insult ‘Trumpettes”, or, “I love pissin off the left”, is common place. Barely ever gets called out and never gets called out by the people who find themselves leaning the same way.
Seriously though none of Cups questions were is Trump a nazi, or is Trump Hitler, or do I trust Trump.

Theres no middle ground any of the camps right now and you even basically said that in your post. Seems like what you want is Unity but it cannot include Trumps supporters.

our govt is purely a reflection of the leadership....yeah...I don't want Trump to be in charge …..you though are assuming I don't want to be comfortable with my neighbors....my oldest son is a Trump fan. He and I are not divided by politics... I take the state of our country seriously not out of ideology, but out of current circumstances....I own my disdain for Trump...absolutely. I own my disdain for racists absolutely....love is unconditional trust in my world.....when there's no trust...well ...it's not a matter of having faith but using scientific method...the flaws are demonstrable...

Yeah but your son and random red voter in a red state are two different things completely.
I have said numerous times I dont like Trump. Said my reasons for it, but I dont feel the need to go on the internet and insult anyone who may vote for him which is again a daily thing here. How can you say you want unity if you’re in the active process of supporting division. Its Trumps MO, he is extremely divisive and insults and pushes people apart all the time. I understand why the reaction is to do the same in return, I just dont think one can partake or support those partaking in divisiveness and be sincere in saying they want unity and that is one of those things that goes both ways.

@riverman for the record, I mean no disrespect. Im just frustrated... I totally get the vitriol for Trump, its not me putting my head in the sand, or straddling the fence, I just don't think throwing insults or being ok with the insults is going to help anything.

You don't know this..I have many dear friends and family who are republicans...and I'm not looking for division....I'm expressing myself...if it becomes contentious that's just someone reacting with verbal counter punches...I ask why he garners trust and it's a fair question. Trumpettes is colorful language.....it can bait contention in anyone insecure about their views I guess. There's an emergence from his camp that I call Trumpettes….mostly his "yes men"....I get called a left wing socialist, etc......I've been told here my Asian wife is part of the problem with America...I've been called a slave to the deep state.....I don't have to respond with..."oh that's interesting..." I also don't think of the country as red and blue states.....which could also be construed as divisive language. My son lives in California...which has divided political counties from the north to the south...it's not a black and white issue

I'm going to insult Trump as long as he's in the position he's in. I own that.

I really don't mind.....this whole political climate has everyone frustrated...we all process our own way

I suppose lots of things are divisive language, and I get that taking a stand is valuable. Im just so uncomfortable with broad insults towards large groups of people and then followed up with I want unity! Im much more ok with personal insults then just insulting everyone (this isnt to get into forum rules), just Saying Trumps an idiot, ok thats fine you or I can say that, when its, anyone who votes for Trump is a racist, or an idiot, or whatever, Just that stuff bothers me, and it bothers me when the right have said similar things, the way they attacked Obama at times was awful, the way they have treated people despicable.
I get if someone is attacking you, or your wife that the inclination is to attack back, and in many cases that may be the “right thing to do”.

I think what scares me going forward is the chasm is so big that whoever wins in 2020’is going to gloat and strut their stuff and divide, and whoever loses well I think the fall out could be our 2nd civil war...

I want unity, and as soon as the other side surrenders or is exterminated, we'll have it.

welcome back my friend.

Thanx man, I took a self imposed 1 year hiatus as a sort of experiment...and I found that what I suspected for the most part was true. Yesterday was exactly one year since I had posted and upon returning I found that the more things change, the more they stay the same.

Here's a few direct questions for you to answer.

1) Do you think it's good for the country to have a president that calls the news media enemy of the people?

3) Do you think those sort of actions above divide the country or brings it closer together?

4)Should the president be the one to try and bring the country together

5) Do you think the president should be making comments to foreign countries asking to investigate a political rival for him?

This is strictly about trump and no other politician so let's leave any other politician out of it.

If you aren't going to answer the questions honestly and instead try and use some of your little cutsey comments, then don't bother responding as it means you condone all his actions above

Look, I've already told you that Trump is "still" our sitting president and as long as he is, I will support him. I also had said that I supported John Kasich and would vote for him in the coming election if I felt he had a chance to win. As it relates to your questions, above, yeah, there are a number of things that really bother me about Trump's responses to various matters and situations. But, seriously, I don't think they're impeachable offenses.

Why? Even the constitution is designed to allow to morons to be removed and not have complete authority. This isn't China where one party rules and everyone is forced to simply support him because he has the highest office.

OK, then, well, impeaching him should not be a problem at all, correct?

Impeaching won't be.

Removal with his cronies in the senate, however, clearly won't be easy.

But your blind admission of support for him JUST because he's president is interesting. Hope you maintain this in a year for Warren as well.

OK, then, well, impeaching him should not be a problem at all, correct?
In the Senate it means the GOP concedes it is supporting him just to keep the power base they have....if he loses they all lose credibility for sitting on their hands while the Constitution is being disregarded concerning the responsibilities of the legislative branch dealing with the executive branch without partisan meddling within the rule of law.

OK, then, well, impeaching him should not be a problem at all, correct?
impeaching a president is always a huge problem...especially when his party controls the Senate....shouldn't be but...partisan stubbornness prevents govt from working without preconceived notions of the outcome. Also we're going into an election that threatens the power base that controls the Senate...that's buying a ref....

There in lies the problem as people like you that admit to blind following have no redline. I doubt you would say the same if it were a democrat who was the president and that creates another problem of divisiveness in this country. As citizens of the USA we have the right to demand better from a sitting president and he has embarrassed our country to no end and it has become apparent he has no idea how to run a country, show diplomacy and how to comfort and bring a country together as he continues to push it further apart.. You have no problem with him shunning our allies and embracing some of the most corrupt dictators in the world. Ever wonder why that is?
