OK, then, well, impeaching him should not be a problem at all, correct?

It is when you have a spineless republican senate that is just like you and accepts any and all indiscretions from trump.

No need to insult ABM Cup....he's stated he doesn't blindly accept all things Trump....and some senate republicans are not on the Trump bandwagon...I hope others change their minds but don't assume they're that shallow...some are....I don't get that impression from ABM but I do think he likes to bait you about the issue.

He said himself that he does: "Trump is "still" our sitting president and as long as he is, I will support him. "

I wasn't insulting abm, I was insulting the republican senate as being spineless. My comparison of the senate to abm was that they all fall in line and accept any and everything he does. As for baiting, I know his game as it's pretty transparent regardless of how he tries to disguise it.

so what...he said he supports any president who is with him on anti abortion if I remember correctly...choices. Trump has support from many evangelicals...for evangelical reasons..I don't see why but that's the reason I express my counters to Trump's administration. I'm not calling ABM spineless because he's made that choice. It's his right to do that even if I think he's wrong. There are a handful of posters here that I do think are blindly parroting Trump's bluster and all of them tend to insult anyone who doesn't....I'd rather take the high road on personal insults when possible. ABM also posted he prefers Kasich to Trump...probably for the same reasons.

I WAS NOT CALLING ABM SPINELESS.

I was calling the republican senate spineless.

your post said when you have a spineless republican senate that is just like you...….I sure don't like it when that sort of post is directed at me.....

I didn't say you were...this is my post on that....

well, you claim I was insulting abm by my spineless comment regarding the senate and then you follow up by stating you aren't calling abm spineless. It just seemed an odd choice of words considering your first response to me and after I explained what my spineless comment referenced. It's all good on my end.

I clarified it Cup...and really it's just a yellow flag from me...not important. read my last post and you'll see the source

And I explained what I meant. Maybe it wasn't worded the best, but my explanation should have sufficed. You also only chose the part that fits your narrative as it continues on saying that is just like you and accepts any and all indiscretions from trump which is the actual part I was comparing to abm and the spineless republican senate. You might have a point if I didn't already clarify it for you. I apologize for the confusion but there was never any insult intended.

Hmmmmm. You'd think they'd consider their re-election chances in all of this.

@riverman for the record, I mean no disrespect. Im just frustrated... I totally get the vitriol for Trump, its not me putting my head in the sand, or straddling the fence, I just don't think throwing insults or being ok with the insults is going to help anything.
Throwing insults is counterproductive on the one hand. On the other hand it is cathartic and there's some value in catharsis.

If you're speaking of Republican Senators then they have to be wary of their primaries but if they give in to that pressure than they're gonna lose in the general election. Trump's going down in 2020 and he's gonna take his Republican supporters with him.

Lol, fair I suppose, but I guess it's just not the way I 'try' to operate. I probably would be better off just not going to the OT section to be blunt with myself.

Look, I've already told you that Trump is "still" our sitting president and as long as he is, I will support him. I also had said that I supported John Kasich and would vote for him in the coming election if I felt he had a chance to win. As it relates to your questions, above, yeah, there are a number of things that really bother me about Trump's responses to various matters and situations. But, seriously, I don't think they're impeachable offenses.

I dont get this. Not in a snarky way, I literally dont understand why you feel you need to support someone you dont respect. That, to me, is contradictory to standing up for what you believe in. It is not the same as "i work for a guy, its my job, where i get my paycheck, and we disagree, but i need to show support to keep my job". Even in that case, I would argue its time for a new job. But a politician, a guy who works for YOU not the other way around, if you dont like or respect him, his policies, you dont just stand by him because hes the President. In fact, whenever I read or hear something like this, all I think is the person is trying to get out of owning that they actually do support the President. When I read in here "listen, i dont like Trump, but he's our President so I support him", i dont actually read it that way. I read "i like Trump". Because if you truly dont like or respect someone, you dont support them. It makes no sense.

Dude, you’re one of the rare open minded individuals who dare to venture into the OT Section. And it is needed. Say your peace and stand your ground. We’re all adults....whether we always act like it or not. I was raised on the adage that there is almost always two sides to a story....and you can’t learn much hearing only half the tale. Keep on bringing it TBF.

OT to me is a lot of different things from music you listen to to random photos...it's not OT...it's threads...and I'm with UCD....you are an engaging contributor to the forum...and there are far too few who will question things...it leads to a process that I think helps with the situations and problems we all live around. I don't enjoy being talked "at" but love to be talked "with"

I try not to insult but when I give in to the urge, I try to assuage myself with the catharsis angle. The upshot is, not insulting is usually the best way to go. Too bad I'm not perfect.

They should and I am sure some have been, but some are in some pretty deep red states so they are likely safe. Even at that, sure seems like an extraordinary amount of republican senators retiring (or quiting). Wonder why? :dunno:

Neither are any of us.

The Japanese purposefully flaw some ceramics or pottery so that it is not perfect to give it a human element....I always found that interesting. I've admitted when I was wrong both times!

What kind of narcissist thinks they can make something by hand perfectly in the first place? Okay, leave me and Trump out of this.

I am as open minded as they come.................. as long as they agree with me. :bgrin:

ABM and Susan Collins are both 'very concerned'.

I still think he can be swayed from the dark side...but only if the dems have a pro life candidate

Not holding my breath. Trump thinks he's Jesus, and a certain subset of Americans agree with him.

Perfect is a spurious word of unattainable fantasy and delusion

Sure I am. Meanwhile, I hope Susan Collins joins her sister, Judy, for some sappy duet in Key Largo. Only fitting.
