Politics Trump’s Right: His Media Coverage Is Mostly Negative

Welcome to our community

In Obama's first 100 days he passed actual legislation. He also had great approval ratings at the time.

Drumpf has the WORST approval ratings of any president at this time. And you're complaining about the difference in news coverage?

I think the news coverage drives the approval ratings. No, I don't "think" it, I'm sure of it.

Does he deserve negative press for his budget tweet this morning about Puerto Rico? Yes or No?

No.

It's not clear what he meant, and surely it's not the media's job to divine what he meant. If they want to ask him what he meant, that's perfectly good.

Whoa whoa whoa whoa!!!!!

Just googled Willa Frej.

She's an attractive blonde girl next door type. NEXT!!!!

I don't need no fox news looking blondes telling dog whistling to me even if she does "report" for the Huffpo dipshits?

No, Trump meant he wished they had all died so our budget would be ok. Clearly

@HCP, if I were to divine what Trump meant when talking about the budget...

He's got a new budget to get passed and a tax plan. The hits to spending for disaster relief are putting a crimp on what he wants to do. But he's all for spending the relief money anyway.

Plus it's a little dig at the government there who are managing their government in massive debt.

Well when both sides don't like you...

Yeah Republicans in Power don't like Drumpf. He barely has any relationship with Ryan and McConnell.

You just need to come to grips with the fact that he sucks as a person and as a president. The sooner the better.

The oddest thing is that Chris Cuomo of CNN is on the ground in Nevada, but he's raving about Trump's performance on the ground in Puerto Rico, at the impressive amount of relief/aid/support that's already there, etc.

I don't expect them to run reruns of that clip all day.

I have come to grips.

He won, winners get to govern.

That's the grand American Experiment in action.

It's not a good joke so yeah. He's an asshat for joking about people's plight. He's never had to deal with anything like that so he shouldn't say stupid shit like that.

He'll be impeached before the midterms. :dunno:

For no crime?

It's 10 months in and he's still governing.

Get used to it. We had to put up with Obama's malfeasance, too.

In both cases, the republic survives.

The most recent one was $8B in relief for hurricane victims.

But you know, he's not signed any legislation. At all.

Everyone does realize that both things can be true simultaneously, right? The media are by and large liberal in viewpoint and slant stories in an anti-conservative manner because of this world view. Meanwhile, Trump does one stupid thing after another and is totally deserving of negative press.

There's lots of it. You're proving my point for me, that the media doesn't cover it.

What, unconstitutional shit? I thought CNN was fake news?

March 31, 2017: H.J.Res.42 - "Joint Resolution disapproving the rule submitted by the Department of Labor relating to drug testing of unemployment compensation applicants"
This resolution repeals an Obama-era Labor Department rule that limited states' ability to drug-test those seeking unemployment benefits.

So you admit he "got legislation passed."

Good for you.

The question of constitutionality is a red herring.

But since you brought it up... There's a legitimate argument that if people are getting government handouts, that the government should ensure that the people are healthy or get treatment and can get a job and off the dole.

@HCP Trump says he wants to forgive Puerto Rico's $80B in debt. Is that good?

We both know that violates the 4th amendment Denny. And your boy Rick Scott has already had his overturned in FL due to unconstitutionality.

So the playground bully tossed a couple dimes out for milk money? That doesn't mean anything man, c'mon. I don't care Denny, you could send me and my family a XMAS present, but if you act like a prick the other 11 months it doesn't mean a thing.

$80B is not milk money.

It gets Puerto Rico out of a very deep hole.

He's proposing to rebuild everything there and forgiving the massive debt.

No, it doesn't violate the 4th amendment. Your link proves it. Nor is the court's decision the final say.

It most certainly does violate the right to illegal search and seizure. There is no probable cause to search someone's urine.
Being on welfare is not probable cause and there is also no search warrant.

I imagine the counter-argument is that receiving welfare benefits is voluntary, so it's not unreasonable to place prerequisites on the distribution thereof.

Honestly, the fiscal argument against drug-testing for benefits is much more compelling.

Truth.

Members of Congress don't have to pass a drug test but we should make welfare recipients? Aren't members of Congress just welfare recipients themselves?
