Turning 18

After a conversation with a co-worker, I wanted to get everyone's take on this.

Did any of you have your father take you to a strip club when you turned 18? Would you have thought it was cool if he did? For those of you under 18, what would you think if your dad told you he was going to take you to a strip club for your 18th birthday?

Being 19, my dad never took me to a strip club. I would have like to go to a strip club for my 18th bday, but it would be a little awkard if my dad was their even though he is a cool guy. Maybe like pay for a dance in a backroom, but I would want a girl grinding on me with my dad next to me.

It might be cool just to give the kid some money to go to the strip club with his friends for his bday.

maybe. depends on how much he acted like "my dad" while we were there. I think it would have been awkward. The reason is because he spent a lot of energy trying to convince me not to get any girl knocked up prior to 18. You know, like leave your bedroom door wide open if you have a female guest over. That sort of thing. For him to just so a complete about face on the whole sexuality thing would be odd at best.

There was a time when he and my mother divorced when I would bring a girl home and he would later ask, "Next time, bring one for me too." or something to that effect.

Everyone's situation at home is different. I think it's a case by case thing. If your dad is also in the market again like many are, then it might be a very fun experience for the two of you to go out seeking females together. "I'm taking the one on the left, you can have her mom..."

There are better things to do in life than going to strip clubs. (my personal opinion)

Not if your girl is also a nasty hoe. Then it's better to leave the lights off!

Even professional athletes, who pull in the hottest looking girls, and they are still willing to go pay someone to do that for them at a strip club. Getting girls to stip for them is not a problem either.

I think strip clubs are for all the *other* guys in the world. You know, the sports fans with beer bellies and and fat wives. Or guys who want to stare at chicks that are 30 years their junior because anybody their age would make them vomit to watch. There is a big market here in America for strip clubs, no doubt about that.

Yup. My dad keeps saying for my 18th birthday he'll take me and my buddies to the strip club. He goes himself sometimes. I don't see the problem with it. I mean, you bring cash you watch girls dance.

Well I come from a pretty religious household, so I could never see that happening. I've been to a strip club a couple times and didn't find it all that entertaining, so I doubt I'd enjoy it with anyone.

I have found that the novelty wears off after about a half an hour. At first, you are amazed to be in a room where there are 10 naked chicks fawning for your attention. Then, after the 10th chick has walked past you 30 times asking for a tip, you are ready to stop throwing your money away and leave. They usually plan events like this around something like a bachelor party or birthday.

Yea, that's basically how I felt about it. The first time I went just for the sake of going. It seems like something wild and amazing, but gets kind of stale once you get past that initial shock. The other time I went was because we couldn't find a place to play pool and the strip club was our last resort.

I just turned 18 two weeks ago and hell no I wouldn't go with my dad. It probably depends about the individual's dad. I have friends who I could see going to the strip club with their dad. My dad is cool about stuff like that and I'm sure he wouldn't care at all if I went but I'm sure he wouldn't want to go with me as much as I don't want to go with him. Its not that hes strict or straight laced or that I don't like him, I just think it would be awkward going to the strip club with him.

I'll probably go with my friends here in the next few weeks. I was the last in my "group" to turn 18 so I hadn't gone with them before. Going in I'd expect it to be more of just a good time hanging with my bros rather than trying to oogle and get with half naked women. Anyone with half a brain knows they're just trying to get money out of you. I have no problem with giving them money to grind on me lol but I'm not expecting it to be anything more than that. Its just something to do to have fun when theres no parties going on. I'd equate it to going to the horse track or going out and playing paintball. Just instead of gambling or shooting at one another we're sitting around giving our money to broads with almost no clothes on. Still kicking it, having a good time, surely trashed off our asses, but we're doing it to have a good time. Are there better things to do? Of course, but its fun every once in a while.

The general point of a strip club is to go out with a group of guys to have some fun. So unless you are going to have your girl give couch dances to all of your friends, all you are describing is a date night.
