This is what I mean when I said Trump's got the GOP by the balls:

Trump Supporters in Georgia Threaten to Destroy GOP, Boycott Runoff Elections

The GOP fucked themselves as soon as they allowed Trump to be their nominee 4 years ago.

Now even after he is kicked out of office he will have control over the party. No one in the GOP will be able to get elected without Trump signing off on it.

If Trump doesn't run in 2024, whoever does will have to have Trumps endorsement. They totally fucked themselves.

Big loss for Trump in PA tonight

The Republican federal judge also said,

"One might expect that when seeking such a startling outcome, a plaintiff would come formidably armed with compelling legal arguments and factual proof of rampant corruption, such that this Court would have no option but to regrettably grant the proposed injunctive relief despite the impact it would have on such a large group of citizens. That has not happened," Brann added. "Instead, this Court has been presented with strained legal arguments without merit and speculative accusations, unpled in the operative complaint and unsupported by evidence."

That's a federal judge's way of saying, "Quit wasting my fucking time."

Ha. If Trump supporters handed the Senate to Democrats, that would be hilarious.

I've once in a while looked at the Free Republic site, which is essentially a forum for the most extreme conservatives in the nation (not nearly as violent and explicitly racist as white supremacist sites, though there's still plenty of implicit racism)--they hate the Republican party nearly as much as the Democrats and view Trump as the sole force for good fighting both parties.

If all the hardcore Trump cultists (which is probably about 40% of the Republican party--the other 60% of Republican Trump voters are just tribal collaborators) really elected not to vote in the Georgia run-offs, it wouldn't be that surprising and it would absolutely sink the Republican party.

And if they continued to boycott both parties into the future...

If I were a commie pinko version of Roger Stone, I would definitely do whatever I could to make that outcome a reality in January. It seems like the easiest route to victory.

I don't think anyone would call me a ratfucker.

I mean, literally I do fuck rats - it gets lonely on a pirate ship - but that's not what the term really means.

If you're not having oral sex with rats I'm sorry to hear about your micropenis issues.....but a pirate should run a "tight" ship,,,maybe you have rats the size of small cows

MILWAUKEE (AP) — Election officials in Wisconsin’s largest county accused observers for President Donald Trump on Saturday of seeking to obstruct a recount of the presidential results, in some instances by objecting to every ballot tabulators pulled to count.

Trump requested the recount in Milwaukee and Dane counties, both heavily liberal, in hopes of undoing Democrat Joe Biden's victory by about 20,600 votes. With no precedent for a recount reversing such a large margin, Trump's strategy is widely seen as aimed at an eventual court challenge, part of a push in key states to undo his election loss.

A steady stream of Republican complaints in Milwaukee was putting the recount far behind schedule, county clerk George Christenson said. He said many Trump observers were breaking rules by constantly interrupting vote counters with questions and comments.

“That’s unacceptable,” he said. He said some of the Trump observers “clearly don't know what they are doing.”

Tim Posnanski, a county election commissioner, told his fellow commissioners there appeared to be two Trump representatives at some tables where tabulators were counting ballots, violating rules that call for one observer from each campaign per table. Posnanski said some Trump representatives seemed to be posing as independents.

At one recount table, a Trump observer objected to every ballot that tabulators pulled from a bag simply because they were folded, election officials told the panel.

Posnanski called it “prima facie evidence of bad faith by the Trump campaign.” He added later: “I want to know what is going on and why there continues to be obstruction.”

Joe Voiland, a lawyer speaking to commission members on behalf of the Trump campaign, denied his side was acting in bad faith.

“I want to get to the point of dialing everything down … and not yelling at each other,” Voiland said.

At least one Trump observer was escorted out of the building by sheriff’s deputies Saturday after pushing an election official who had lifted her coat from an observer chair. Another Trump observer was removed Friday for not wearing a face mask properly as required.

Trump paid $3 million, as required by state law, for the partial recount that began Friday and must conclude by Dec. 1.

His team is seeking to disqualify ballots where election clerks filled in missing address information on the certification envelope where the ballot is inserted, even though the practice has long been accepted in Wisconsin.

The campaign also alleges thousands of absentee ballots don't have proper written paperwork, and that some absentee voters improperly declared themselves “indefinitely confined," a status that allows them to receive a ballot without photo ID. Those challenges were being rejected.

There have been at least 31 recounts in statewide elections in the U.S. since the most famous one in Florida’s presidential election in 2000. The recounts changed the outcome of three races. All three were decided by hundreds of votes, not thousands.

https://www.yahoo.com/news/lindsey-graham-continues-weigh-georgia-213223819.html

Senator Lindsey Graham, whose constituency is in North Carolina, is once again weighing in on the state of Georgia's elections process.

On Saturday, Mr Graham echoed Georgia Governor Brian Kemp's desire for the state to conduct an audit of mail-in ballot signatures.
His intervention comes a day after Mr Kemp accepted the results of the state's recount after Georgia Secretary of State Brad Raffensperger certified that Joe Biden had won the election.

Mr Kemp said he would accept the results, but only because he was required to by law.

Donald Trump criticised Mr Kemp for not cracking down on Mr Raffensperger, and claimed without providing any evidence that a signature audit would prove that illegal voting had taken place.

"The Governor of Georgia and Secretary of State, refuse to let us look at signatures which would expose hundreds of thousands of illegal ballots, and give the Republican Party and me, David
Perdue, and perhaps Kelly Loeffler a BIG VICTORY," Mr Trump tweeted on Friday.

Mr Graham has been one of Mr Trump's most vocal allies in his campaign to overturn the election by invalidating votes — and has been accused of trying to influence local election officials to help the president achieve that aim.

Mr Raffensperger told The Washington Post earlier in the month that Mr Graham asked him if he could throw out all of the mail in ballots from counties with high rates of mismatched signatures. Later, Mr Raffensperger confirmed that he believed Mr Graham wanted him to throw out legally cast ballots.

Mr Graham denied he asked anything of the sort.

“We never talked about him throwing out ballots,” Graham said. “We talked about how would you challenge a signature in Georgia,” he said during a Fox and Friends interview.

If Mr Graham did ask Mr Raffensperger to throw out the ballots, he would have committed a crime under Georgia election laws. However, Mr Graham is unlikely to face prosecution as he is a sitting senator.

In a tweet on Friday, Mr Graham claimed the rate of signature rejections in the 2020 race was significantly less than in previous elections.

"The rejection rate for signatures in the 2020 race was significantly less than in past elections. A signature audit is necessary given how the Consent Decree affected mail in voting," he wrote.
The allegation that the signature rejection rate is higher is misleading. Mr Trump and Mr Graham's concerns with signature matching are based on a misunderstanding of the data currently available from the state of Georgia.

The state has not released data on the total number of mail-in ballots that have been rejected. It has released the number of mail-in ballots rejected due to missing or mismatched signatures, but those numbers are consistent with the rate of rejections in the 2018 midterms and is lower than the number of rejections in 2016.

While more mail-in ballots were rejected this year than in 2018, more mail-in ballots were also cast in 2020 than in 2018. When taking the volume of mail-in ballots into consideration, the rate is nearly identical to 2018.

Gabriel Sterling, Georgia's voting system implementation manager and a Republican, said the 2020 rejection rate has been "pretty consistent" and said the comparisons Mr Trump and Mr Graham are making are "apples and oranges."

I wish I could just dismiss this as 'same shit, different day', but it really is alarming what's going on. They are literally in there obstructing a recount for the president of the United States... that's insane. I mean, shoving people, getting escorted out by sheriff deputies? Insane.

* “A society becomes totalitarian,” Orwell warned in his 1946 essay “The Prevention of Literature”, “when its structure becomes flagrantly artificial: that is, when its ruling class has lost its function but succeeds in clinging to power by force or fraud.” The flagrancy is part of the point. At present, that flagrantly artificial power in the US depends on a president who refuses to concede, an administration that repudiates the results of an election that was transparently fair (as corroborated by independent international election observers), the Republican leadership complicitly silent or actively encouraging these falsehoods and surrogates who flatly lie about the election outcome. The result is that some 70% of Republican voters currently believe that Biden’s win was “rigged” – although they don’t explain how a Republican Senate was returned in this same “rigged” election. The Republican party, funded by vastly wealthy donors, has turned itself into America’s ruling class, clinging to fraudulent power by refusing to acknowledge the legitimacy of its opponents, withholding the consent of the loser that is necessary for democracy to function.

There is a simple reason for this: minority rule. As Fintan O’Toole recently argued in the New York Review of Books: “The logic is not that a permanently minority party may move toward authoritarianism but that it must. Holding power against the wishes of most citizens is an innately despotic act
.

-------------------------------------------

* " The Republicans need to establish the rule of a minority as a permanent arrangement, or they must concede not Trump’s inevitable defeat by the majority, but their own. Lindsey Graham, the South Carolina senator who was re-elected last week in an election whose results he disputes in self-cancelling terms, put it clearly: “If we don’t challenge and change the US election system, there will never be another Republican president elected again. President Trump should not concede.”

This is not news to the Republican leadership. It’s why for decades they have engaged in wholesale repudiation of facts and reality, replacing evidence and history with lies and paranoia. Part of what upholds a flagrantly artificial power structure is fraudulent history: “From the totalitarian point of view,” as Orwell noted, “history is something to be created rather than learned.” We are watching the Republican party create such a fraudulent history in real time
."

-------------------------------------------------

* " Meanwhile incoming Republican congresswoman Marjorie Taylor Greene subscribes to QAnon, the far-right conspiracy theory claiming that a cabal of Satan-worshiping, paedophiliac sex-trafficking Democrats has been plotting against Trump. As the New York Times reported last year: “At Christian nationalist gatherings and strategy meetings, the Democratic party and its supporters are routinely described as ‘demonic’ and associated with ‘rulers of the darkness’.” Republicans no longer oppose Democrats politically: they are opposing them existentially."

------------------------------------------------

* " In 1964 the historian Richard Hofstadter identified what he called the “paranoid style in American politics”, a perspective that shaped the stories Americans too often told themselves. Paranoia offers a master trope for interpreting “the sense of heated exaggeration, suspiciousness, and conspiratorial fantasy” in American political narratives, from 18th-century Illuminati paranoia to the Papist conspiracies of 19th-century nativism, to the enduring anti-communist hysterias of the 20th century. Hofstadter predicted that paranoid energies would periodically be released in America when “historical catastrophes or frustrations” exacerbated the religious traditions and social structures that fostered those energies, catalysing them into “mass movements or political parties”.

---------------------------------------------------

* " Half a century later America produced a president who embodies the paranoid style, proclaiming at every turn that investigations into his allegedly criminal activity are “witch-hunts”, that elections are “rigged” against him, while spinning false conspiracy theories as camouflage, so that none of them seem real, or all of them do. As Arendt observed, in an unstable, incomprehensible world, people arrive at the point “where they would, at the same time, believe everything and nothing, think that everything was possible and that nothing was true”.

Conspiracy theories are the authoritarian answer to paranoia; everything is equally possible, but an authority remains in control. This makes conspiracy more comforting than contingency, especially if you find authority reassuring. Conspiracy and paranoia insist there is always a plot, and every plot has an author: someone is always in charge, even if it’s a person you don’t like. Especially if it’s a person you don’t like, because then you have someone to blame.
"
