Off topic. Do I hit the report button now?

It isn't about listening to trump, it's about the CDC and the task force trump set up and put pence in charge of is who should be administering the process. All we hear during their stupid press conferences is a bunch bragadacious bull shit about how great they have already done. It's also much bigger than just Oregon. If a person in Arizona becomes infected and travels to Oregon and then frequents malls or places of large gatherings and then spreads the virus and boom, we are in a quick mess.
I realize what your saying but Im just not sure you could keep each state staying home till others catch up, plus there are people that are a systematic even passed phased that will be traveling. Realistically this virus is going to be with us fa long time, and we need to make adjustments and as meds are released and hopefully a vaccine. I actually like the 50 States doing there own thing as long as it's producing good results and learn from each other.

i don't know if its a keep all states at home as much as, don't go in or out of such and such state?

what dictates that is anyones guess though because it needs accurate numbers to provide an accurate regulatory guideline.

i don't agree with just opening everything up

i don't agree with keeping everything closed...

Here i am. Stuck in the middle again...

I brought this up a week or so ago. How would they control this. How would they regulate places like us, KC, NYC, and other large metro areas built on a border.

It seems that yes, each state should be individually assessed, but that assessment should come with some awareness of the next state over, and so on.

I do agree that even though each state should be handled differently, there should be a universal consensus regarding interstate travel. Until that is properly laid out(and laid out accurately) then you might as well open all the states.

Or keep them all closed.

But yes. It needs governing body to provide an overall guideline to the states, based on their location(bordering) to other hot areas, or vice versa.

You win post of the day because you got a like from me. :)
It almost seems like a joke that this country could follow the lead of this government and the experts they have on the committee. It wouldn't matter what direction they take, politics would get in the way just as it has. Im all for a National concerted effort but the politics have gotten to ugly and someone was to win at all cost it seems.

well. how does Florida, Texas and Georgia fail to adhere to guidelines and just act like it's over and allow the state to open up? Why even have a CDC or a task force as trump refuses to adhere to their guidelines and encourages states to open up cause he is so worried about the economy. I'd rather lose a business than lose a life.

"Stuck In The Middle With You"...sung by a very young Gerry Rafferty, probably better known for "Baker Street".

Wasn't that song by Stealers Wheel? Did Gerry Raferty also do it?

Edit, just looked it up and Rafferty was in Stealers Wheel before he went solo.

Also, listen to the beginning of Baker Street and then listen to the Eagles/ Glenn Fry You belong to the City.

Yeah, Gerry Rafferty WAS Steelers Wheels.

Damn, can't believe you posted a Glenn Frey video...still can't believe he died too.

Maybe we need to take this to the Music Flavor of the Month thread?

Neither party gives a flying fuck about America.

President Trump sent two tweets Wednesday morning threatening financial retaliation against states that are trying to make it easier to cast a ballot during the [URL='https://www.vox.com/coronavirus-covid19']coronavirus pandemic, saying he will “hold up” funds for two swing states encouraging people to vote absentee:

Trump is not telling the truth about Michigan’s plans. Michigan Secretary of State Jocelyn Benson plans to mail an absentee ballot application to voters, not an actual ballot. Several Republican-led states plan to do the same thing. (Nevada, by contrast, will provide actual ballots to voters.)

Yet while several states are taking steps to make it easier to vote absentee, the two states that Trump singled out are likely to be contested in the 2020 election. Trump barely won Michigan in 2016, and he lost Nevada by less than 3 points.

It’s also unclear which “funds” Trump is threatening to withhold from Michigan and Nevada, but he could be referring to “Election Security Grants” provided for in the Coronavirus Aid, Relief, and Economic Security (CARES) Act, which he signed into law in March.

The CARES Act appropriated $400 million in funds to help states “prevent, prepare for, and respond to coronavirus, domestically or internationally, for the 2020 Federal election cycle.” Michigan received $11.2 million as its share of those funds, and plans to use some of that money to mail an absentee ballot application to every voter in the state. Nevada received $4.5 million and will use that money to transition to a system where registered voters automatically receive a ballot in the mail.

Both states, in other words, appear to be using the federal funds for the exact purpose laid out by Congress. By making it easier for voters to cast a ballot by mail, the states will “prevent” the spread of coronavirus at polling sites. They will “prepare for” an election where coronavirus might otherwise discourage many voters from casting a ballot. And they will “respond” to the unique challenges a pandemic imposes on voters and election officials.
